58 Gin Unveils New Identity to Support Future Expansion

58 and Co.

East London-based ethical spirits company, 58 Gin, has re-branded to 58 and Co. following a complete overhaul of its product range to better represent its company values, champion its collaborative ventures and support category diversification.

The re-brand coincides with becoming a B-Corp certified operation - a landmark achievement for the distillery which underpins its wider business plan for growth, which has its focus on strategic partnerships with other ethically and sustainably sound drinks producers, alongside the development of its core spirits range.

58 and Co. will build upon its six-year award-winning distilling history – including being named UK Gin Producer of the Year 2020[1] - to bring new collaborative Limited-Edition spirits to market.  This includes the 2022 release of a series of small batch premium, authentic Shōchū, using Kanpai London's pressed kasu (by-product), expected later this year.

The distillery's plan to aid expansion through diversification into different spirit categories sees its core range enhanced with the addition of a Triple Distilled Vodka. Created with 100% British wheat spirit and offering a smooth and incredibly clean taste with a hint of clotted cream and biscuit, the Triple Distilled Vodka will sit alongside its premium London Dry, Apple & Hibiscus and Navy Strength Gins.

New look house gin and vodka bottles for the on trade have also been introduced and designed with bartenders in mind to allow for efficient speed rail usage, and product will be delivered in eco-pouches to further reduce the carbon footprint of its volume service.

58 and Co.'s premises, based in London's Haggerston, beneath the railway arches will be updated and will include a front of house distillery shop counter complete with spirit refill service.  This will allow ease of purchase for the local community as well as those visiting its award-winning London Gin School and Gin Tasting sessions.

Carmen O'Neal, Founder, 58 and Co. said: “We're absolutely delighted to unveil our new brand, which we feel truly represents our values, approach and future direction.  We're incredibly proud of our sustainability efforts, collaborative approach to spirit making and community focus, and achieving B.Corp status is wonderful, particularly given the challenges that we've faced during the pandemic.

“Moving forward we're excited to continue distilling some of the best and most meticulously made spirits in the UK, ensuring this is done in the right way, wherever we can, for people, planet and purpose.”

58 and Co. has broken significant barriers as an urban distillery to ensure that sustainability remains core within its spirit production and operations.  The distillery is run on 100% solar and renewable energy, a botanical 'Green Wall' adorns its entranceway, its resin driveway is made from the equivalent of 141,000 plastic straws removed from the ocean and key partnerships with the likes of Loddington Farm in Kent allow its gins to be produced in a 100% full green circle.

Based in London's Haggerston, beneath the railway arches, 58 and Co. is a world class spirits brand that gets to the heart of elevated drinking experiences you can sip, savour and share.

58 and Co. meticulously crafts its spirits mixing traditional methods with progressive ideas, while championing change, transparency and quality to ensure that 58 and Co.'s exceptional drinks are created in the best way possible.

As a B.Corp certified operation, 58 and Co.'s sustainable credentials are enviable.  Amongst its many achievements, the distillery is run on 100% solar and renewable energy, its resin driveway was lain using the equivalent of 141,000 plastic straws removed from the ocean and it has an on-site botanical 'Green Wall' and composting system.

Its long-standing partnership with fifth generation Loddington Farm in Kent allows its gins to be produced in a truly green full circle. Its Apple & Hibiscus sugar-free 'pink' gin achieves its sweetness by vapour distilling Loddington Farm's wonky apples alongside hibiscus flowers to create an incredibly pure flavour.  Post distillation, any waste goes to back to James, the farmer to be used in his compost.  In addition, waste botanicals are also used in Humble Crumble.

With collaboration key to 58 and Co., it continues to team up with aligned businesses to create limited edition spirits.  This includes a collaboration with Kanpai London to produce small batches of premium, authentic Shōchū using their pressed kasu (by-product) – the first edition was awarded Silver at the 2021 IWSC and Gold at The Sprits Business Speciality Masters 2021.

58 and Co's London Gin School has received Tripadviser's Traveller's Choice Award and offers a new express Gin Tasting Experience – created to teach gin lovers the nuances of tasting their favourite tipple in just one hour.
