Welsh food and drink producers will be looking to increase their reputation along with their business this month at the Food & Drink Expo in Birmingham (21-24 March).

Several Welsh companies will be exhibiting under the Welsh Assembly Government�s True Taste banner, and for the first time there will also be a sushi style conveyor belt show casing some dishes drawn from the producers exhibiting at the Expo.

Cooking demonstrations will also take place on the Welsh Assembly Government stand involving Colin Gray and Nick Davies, chefs with years of experience who are also members of the Welsh National Culinary Team.

Wynfford James, Welsh Assembly Government�s Food, Fisheries and Market Development Director, explains, �The Expo is one of the UK�s most important and exciting trade shows for sourcing the latest and most innovative food and drink products and services from around the world.

�This bi-annual event attracts leading buyers from the food service, retail, wholesale and manufacturing industries and is an important showcase for Welsh producers.�

Fruitapeel Fresh and pasteurised fruit juice and smoothie producer, Fruitapeel, will be offering tastings and information about its range of products from its new premises in South Wales. Fruitapeel, the second largest manufacturer of fruit and confectionary based sauces in the UK, with excellent support from the Welsh Assembly, has recently acquired the former Sunjuice Ltd bottling plant in Llantrisant. There will be new products on show from Pontypridd-based Otley Brewing Company. Established in 2005, the company will be re-launching Columbo 4%, a golden ale, and 06 Porter 6.6%, an old style Porter.
