Once again lovers of fine food and drink will be in for a treat when they visit the Food Hall during the Royal Welsh Show (July 20-23).
The Welsh Assembly Government�-managed Food Hall has a reputation for quality and diversity and is one of the �must see� attractions for show goers during the Royal Welsh.
Visitors can taste and buy a whole host of produce as well as watch cookery demonstrations by celebrity chefs and learn more about Welsh food and drink.
The Food Hall has more than 50 stands selling a wide variety of food and drink �many of the companies exhibiting are winners of the prestigious Wales the True Taste Food & Drink Awards. The range of produce available spans all sectors from organic and dairy produce to meat, ice cream, cakes and drinks.
The Royal Welsh Show is the ideal opportunity to launch new products into the public arena, and a number of producers will be showing off their latest products from cheese and chocolates to sausages and cider, while others will be revealing their new images and brand designs.
Among them are Evan Rees (Butter) Ltd with a new butter to celebrate the company�s 20th anniversary, two new cheeses from Milk Link�s Cadog brand, a new look and name for Sancl�r Organic�s yogurt cheese, and a Pot au Chocolat dessert from South Caernarfon Creameries.
There will be a limited edition Welsh trout p�t�, only available at the Royal Welsh Show, from The Patchwork Traditional Food Company, and new from the Welsh Mustard Company are a Welsh horseradish, apple sauce, and honey mustard, while Elan Valley Mutton will be showing its new mutton pies.
Chocolate orange is the latest ice cream from Brynderi Honey Farm, Llaeth y Llan/The Village Dairy will have its new 450g big pots of yogurt, Blaenafon Cheddar Company will be revealing the winner of the cheese recipe competition to celebrate the Girl Guides UK�s 100th anniversary as well as demonstrating cheese-making and recipes Roman style.
Kid Me Not will have its new goats cheese discs for the food service industry, and Good Food will be showing its new mueslis. Two new beers will be on offer from Breconshire Brewery, while Pembertons Victorian Chocolates will be showing a new range of petit four chocolates.
Calon Wen Milk Co-operative has added cheese to its portfolio and will be showcasing two varieties, Brecon Carreg will have its new 300ml bottles of mineral water for children, and Ralph�s Cider will be launching its online ordering service. Colomb O is the new ale from The Otley Brewing Company, and Celtic Country Wines has added an Elderflower sparkling wine to its range. There are new chocolates from The Chocolate House, and new chutneys from The Farmhouse Pantry, Tregroes Waffles will launch its new look, and Celia�s Oriental Kitchen�s new �Chow Boxes' uses Welsh Beef and Lamb. Already making a splash with its unusually named ice creams, the Really Welsh Trading Company will have new flavours, while visitors can add something special to Cadwalladers Ice Cream � Cow Pat topping! Building on the success of its debut at the Winter Fair, the Food Hall will feature a stand dedicated to fishing and seafood. Run by a co-operative of Welsh fishermen and producers from across Wales, The Fresh Fish Market will offer visitors a chance to purchase a range of fish and shellfish produced in Wales including dressed crab, lobster, spider crab, oysters, mussels and bass. Aberdovey fishmonger Gill Reacord will be on hand throughout the show giving advice to visitors. Once again to help lighten the load the chilled food �cr�che� situated near the Food Hall entrance will enable visitors to deposit their culinary purchases before enjoying the array of attractions the Royal Welsh Show has to offer.
While at the rear of the Food Hall can be found the �Chill Out Zone� where some of Wales� best know ice cream producers will be scooping up a plethora of flavours for visitors to enjoy; perhaps while watching the chefs demonstrate their culinary skills in the adjacent Food Theatre.
The focus in the Food Hall Theatre is on food tourism and local sourcing and will feature chef proprietors and hoteliers who pride themselves on sourcing locally.
A varied *programme will take place each day including demonstrations by award-winning celebrity chefs along with their local producers � including James Sommerin (The Crown at Whitebrook), Bryan Webb (Tyddyn Llan) and Shaun Hill (The Walnut Tree).
Masterclasses will be held on True Taste cheeses, ales, local fish and shellfish, growing and supplying Welsh produce and food and drink pairing sessions.
