The world-renowned South Yorkshire based Yorkshire Crisps Company has teamed up with Sheffields favourite brand, Hendersons Relish, to launch the ultimate Yorkshiremans crisp.
Launched today, Hendersons Deliciously Spicy Yorkshire Crisps, will be available throughout the UK offering residents outside Sheffield the Hendersons Relish taste for the first time ever.
In fact the new Yorkshire Crisps flavour has been so highly anticipated that orders were flowing in before the first bags were even off the production line. The University of Sheffield was one of the first to place an order for the new Hendersons Yorkshire Sauce Yorkshire Crisps.
University of Sheffield Commercial Bars Manager, Stefan Lowrie, commented: Yorkshire Crisps are a huge seller in our University of Sheffield bars and retail outlets so we couldnt miss out on the chance of being one of the first to stock the new Hendersons Relish flavour. The University of Sheffield is committed to supporting local businesses - especially two as prestigious as Yorkshire Crisps and Hendersons Relish.
Established in 2005 Yorkshire Crisps was founded by businessman Ashley Turner whos family businesses have been established in Sheffield for over 100 years.
Chairman of Yorkshire Crisps, Ashley Turner, comments: We wanted to add a spicy flavour to our range and knew that Hendersons Relish would be the perfect accompaniment.
Yorkshire Crisps Director, Tony Bishop adds: Yorkshire Crisps use completely natural flavours with no monosodium glutamate or other flavour enhancers something that is very rare in the world of crisp production! Were also very proud to offer a truly Yorkshire product: the potatoes are grown and stored locally and the bags are made in Bradford.
Hendersons Relish, made in Sheffield for over 100 years, is still being made within half a mile of the site from which the first bottle was filled.
Managing Director and Chairman of Hendersons Relish, Dr. Kenneth Freeman, comments: As an established Sheffield brand, were very happy to be teaming up with another prestigious local producer. Were expecting these crisps to be a big success, combining Yorkshires favourite brands.
