Tate Catering today announced the opening date for its newest venture � eat & drink at the Bluecoat � a restaurant bar, an espresso offering and events business in the heart of Liverpool. The new facilities, located within the �12.5m refurbishment of the Bluecoat - Liverpool�s oldest building and creative hub, will open to the public on Saturday 15 March and will be open from daily from 8.30am until 10.30pm.

The three year contract for eat & drink at the Bluecoat was awarded to Tate Catering in May 2006 following an open tender process. Tate Catering � the innovative catering company who provide culinary expertise to the catering facilities at a range of UK gallery and museum venues and event spaces - is a division of Tate Enterprises, reports directly to Tate's Board of Trustees and is proud that every penny of profit is returned to support the work of Tate.

Regional food suppliers, including fish from the dayboats of Fleetwood Lancashire and meat from Rhug Estate Wales feature strongly as do boutique beers from Cain�s Beer Company and Wapping Beers � both brewed in Liverpool.
