Swedish cider brand Kopparberg has joined forces with the World Land Trust and Greene King this summer to create an initiative to support the protection of threatened tropical forests across the world. Running in over 800 Greene King bars across the UK, Kopparberg will make a donation from every bottle it sells between July 7th July 28th to the World Land Trust (WLT), who in turn will use each donation to save a tree from being cut down in endangered forests across the globe. With the help of Greene Kings customers, Kopparberg hopes to be able to save over 10,000 trees.
Since 1989 the World Land Trust has been working with overseas conservation organisations to in a bid to save threatened tropical habitats across the world. WLT was the first organisation to introduce the buy an acre of rainforest concept and since then has helped purchase and protect over 375,000 acres of endangered habitats across the world, which would otherwise have been lost forever.
WLTs patron Sir David Attenborough believes The World Land Trusts policy of buying land is the most direct and certain road to conservation. It deserves the support of all who care about the survival of the wild places of the world.
Thinking of the environment is something of a Swedish way of life, and is also a key factor in each of Kopparbergs ciders, as they are made using the finest fruit and the purest naturally occurring soft water, sourced in the town of Kopparberg itself. With the summer upon us, its just another great reason to enjoy a chilled bottle of Kopparberg not that the UK really needed a reason as Kopparberg Pear has become the countrys best selling pear cider since its launch here in late 2006.
Commenting on the programme, Kopparberg UKs MD Davin Nugent said We are very proud to be working with two great partners in the WLT and Greene King in our aim of saving 10,000 trees. The Swedish have an excellent track record when it comes to environmental protection, and as a Swedish brand we are delighted to be able to incorporate this in our business here in the UK.
In Kopparberg, Sweden, we dont do complicated
