A lucky Queenstown local has won three hundred and sixty days of dining at threesixty, the towns only fusion restaurant.
Graeme Smith, originally from Tauranga, has lived in Queenstown for twelve years and said hes delighted to win.
I was having dinner in threesixty with my partner Anna before going to the theatre to see Grease. I filled in the competition entry form and then forgot all about it, so it was a great surprise to hear Id won a years worth of unlimited dining, said Graeme.
A regional sales consultant for Eurowine Fine Wines, Mr Smith can now match his passion for wine with an appreciation of authentic and locally grown ingredients, enjoying a range of dishes created by Joji Iwama, threesixtys executive chef.
I enjoy cooking at home, but its always great to sample fine restaurant cuisine. Im keen to try every dish on the menu at least once and predict Im about to become pretty popular with friends who will want to join me. First things first though, Ill be taking Anna out for my first free meal at threesixty.
The threesixty prize package invites Graeme to eat at the restaurant any time he likes, as often as he likes, for a year. Hell enjoy dishes created in a distinctive east meets west style and the fresh flavours of the newly launched winter menu which includes julienne battered oyster flower with calamari tartare and blood orange vinaigrette.
Mains include rabbit ravioli with dashi braised daikon, the return of the popular red thai curry cappuccino and a new signature dessert Bomb Alaska to tempt local dining enthusiasts.
The prize draw was part of a campaign to profile fusion dining to Southern Lakes locals.
Last years winner, bus company operations manager Mike Wood, said the meals have been awesome, so much so that my wife has given me 12 months to lose what Ive gained on my waist!
Graeme is a keen sportsman, playing football, mountain biking and skiing every week, so he said putting on a few kilos shouldnt be an issue.
threesixty is located on Beach Street, opposite Queenstowns Steamer Wharf, and enjoys spectacular views over Lake Wakatipu and the mountains.
