New Cocktail Concepts launch at Zeta Bar

Reinforcing its reputation as one of the most cutting edge cocktail bars in the Southern Hemisphere, Zeta Bar has an eclectic selection of innovative new cocktails on its menu.

 

Mixologist and international bar consultant Grant Collins continues to pioneer the most prominent global bar trends. Collins’ latest quirky and interactive cocktails at Zeta are inspired by market fresh ingredients, quality spirits and progressive interpretations on timeless classics.

 

Introducing Zeta Bar’s new cocktail creations for summer/autumn 2012; Gunpowder Plot, Champagne & Strawberry Martini, DIY Old Fashioned, Apple Absinth Nitro Punch and Very British G&T.

 

Gunpowder Plot

Inspired by Guy Fawkes and the infamous "Gunpowder Plot", this autumnal cocktail is made with Gunpowder tea infused gin, shaken energetically with fernet branca, spiced & gunpowder syrup and dandelion & burdock bitters. Served straight up in a vintage martini glass encased within a smoking cloche, a mound of smoking gunpowder twigs and oak scented fog.

 

Champagne & Strawberry Martini

A simplistic yet exquisite summer fusion of Belvedere vodka, well shaken with crème de fraise, strawberry puree and fresh citrus. Served straight up in a martini glass with champagne emulsion and candied strawberry.

 

DIY Old Fashioned

Break in case of emergency! This innovative take on a cocktail classic has a large measure of Buffalo Trace Bourbon encased within a triple frozen "ice egg". Crack ice with miniature hammer, tweak and imbibe to you palates delight, with Bourbon, Orange & Angostura bitters, Cherry Juice and and fresh cherries. Apple Absinth Nitro Punch

This crisp and thirst quenching cocktail, designed to share, has apple cider mixed with absinth, elderflower and fresh pressed apple juice with a generous serve of Belvedere Citrus Vodka. Served in a smoking punch bowl for 3-4 people and spiked with LN2.

 

Very British G&T

Catch the end of summer with this timeless classic. Bulldog gin and house made tonic built over fresh chipped ice with a spike of “bobs tonic bitters” and a float of Pimms. Served long in a jam jar and garnished with fresh rosemary and cucumber, a twist of black pepper and vintage stripped straw.

 

Collins’ craft mirrors that of progressive chefs such as Feran Adria, Thomas Keller & Heston Blumenthal and is evident throughout his continually evolving cocktail list. Guests can expect the unexpected with deconstructed classics, edible creations and liquid nitrogen infusions. Whether trying something new or opting for a cocktail classic, guests can enjoy premium cocktails mixed by Sydney’s most accomplished bartenders.
