After another award winning year, the team at Queensland�s Best Steak Restaurant 2008 considers the appointment of their new Executive Chef as another big win for the restaurant.
Moo Moo The Wine Bar + Grill has welcomed Philip Edwards to lead their kitchen team and help owners Steven & Autumn Adams take the restaurant to the next level.
�Philip has trained and led some of Australia�s finest kitchens and we are very excited to have him joining us at Moo Moo,� said Steven.
Starting his career at Melbourne�s Two Faces, Philip then worked at Victoria�s award winning fine dining restaurant Jacques training under Jacques Reymond. Sous Chef roles at other Victorian favourites� est est est and Ondine followed until a warmer climate beckoned and Philip spent three years as Chef de Cuisine at Vie Restaurant ,Palazzo Versace. From the glitz and glamour of a six-star resort hotel, Philip then took up the role of Executive Chef at Songbird�s in the Gold Coast Hinterland. While at Songbird�s, Philip worked closely with owner Bonnie Rodwell and while there, the restaurant won many awards including being named 2006 Gold Coast Restaurant of the Year.
Philip is looking forward to �taking the bull by the horns� and working in this award winning steak restaurant.
�I�m delighted to be back in a larger, more modern restaurant. Moo Moo already has carved an esteemed history after only three years and I look forward to being a part of its future.
Steven�s passion and knowledge of Beef is testament to the success of the restaurant to date and I�ll be using my experience to help evolve the menu further in the hope there�ll be many more award wins to come,� he said.
As well as appointing a new chef, Moo Moo is also sporting a new look. With a new entrance, new lights and more natural stone features, the restaurant is of a similar style to what you would find in a fine dining North American Steakhouse. The addition of real cow hide further reinforces the Moo Moo specialty and diners will now enjoy relaxing over that long lunch or dinner in custom made luxurious leather armchairs partnered with solid wood tables that feature matching leather inserts.
Moo Moo is renowned for sourcing and delivering the best quality steak in the region including being the only licensed restaurant in Australia serving Master Kobe Beef.
