Lessons In Being A Domestic Goddess For Christmas Please!

Cup of Love Bakery

What's the perfect gift for the woman who has everything? The gift of knowledge... in this case baking knowledge!

Cup of Love Bakery has come up with the perfect Christmas gift for the women in your life, the ones who love the idea of being a domestic goddess, but when they open the oven are greeted with a charred mess.

The Liverpool-based cakery is offering customers the opportunity to have one-to-one baking lessons at home in your very own kitchen.

The idea comes from Cup of Love Bakery's already very successful BIY (Bake It Yourself) parties which take small groups through the process of producing their own batch of luxury cupcakes.

Cup of Love Bakery's owner and head baker, Jemma Volp-Fletcher recognises there is a knowledge gap which is leaving many women without the skills to bake at home.

"It was my grandmother who taught me how to bake, my mum knew the recipes but didn't have the time to pass them on to me. I think a lot of parents are in a position where they don't have the time to bake with their children and so recipes and basic baking skills are lost.

"The idea behind the BIY gift is that you have a practical session which will then give you the skills to bake at home and potentially pass on to your own family and friends. 'Make do and mend' chic has been embraced by the nation but it's no good if you don't know how to make anything!"

Cup of Love Bakery is based in Liverpool, but as BIY is carried out in your own home, there's no issue with distance.

For each BIY session Cup of Love Bakery will liaise with you or your group to decide which cake or cakes you would like to make. You will then be issued with a list of ingredients and equipment you will need ahead of your lesson.

Prices start from 25 per head for a minimum of 6 people. One to one lessons start from 80 per cake. Further details can be obtained www.cupoflovebakery.co.uk or by visiting www.facebook.com/cupoflovebakery or @cupoflovebakery on Twitter.
