The popular Wyndham Estate Seasons Plate Lunches for 2008 kick off on Saturday 1 March at the winerys home in the Hunter Valley. Wyndham is delighted to announce top chef Philip Johnson, from ecco restaurant in Brisbane as the first in a fabulous line up of talented guest chefs for the 2008 series.

New Zealand born Philip Johnson has become one of Australias most celebrated chefs. In 1997, he won the Remy Martin Cognac/Australian Gourmet Traveller Restaurant of the Year award for his restaurant e'cco, which opened in 1995.

A renowned author as well as chef, Philip has published four cookbooks to critical acclaim and contributes to a multitude of publications. Philip conducts numerous cooking classes, demonstrations and guest chef appearances, both nationally and internationally.

This will be the fourteenth year of the Seasons Plate Lunches, traditionally held four times a year to welcome the changing seasons. Guests are treated to an extravagant four-course lunch prepared by a guest chef, and each course is expertly matched with award-winning wines from Wyndham Estate.

Popular wine author and expert, Stuart Gregor will once again act as MC, whilst winemaker, Don Young, will be on hand to discuss the wines being offered on the day and any exciting new releases. At the conclusion of the afternoon, guests are presented with a limited edition Seasons Plate as a memento of the occasion, designed by respected Hunter Valley artist Greg Wilson.
