Game's On The Menu At Suffolk's Bildeston Crown

The Bildeston Crown

November is the month for Game at The Bildeston Crown. As well as featuring on the hotel/restaurant's seasonally changing menus, Head Chef Chris Lee has pulled out the stops and cleaned up his gun to celebrate the very best of Suffolk countryside game.

On Thursday 4th November, The Bildeston Crown hosted, in conjunction with the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC), a Taste of Game Dinner. The event was a precursor to the Taste of Game Fortnight (6th -20th November), an initiative designed by the BASC to encourage and promote the enjoyment of eating fresh, locally sourced game.

The Bildeston Crown will be ensuring a full month of celebrating game with a further event planned for Friday the 26th November. Chef Chris Lee has designed a very special Tasting style menu - 50.00 per head:

Lentil Veloute, Smoked Duck, Cherries

***** Confit Guinea Fowl, Nedging Hall Pickled Vegetables

***** Hare Sheppard's Pie, Celeriac

***** Breast Of Partridge, Pearl Barley, Marjoram

***** Breast Of Mallard, Gizzard, Pumpkin

***** Apple & Celery Pannacotta

***** Chocolate Brulee, Hazelnut Parfait

As might be expected from this year's winner of the "Taste Of England" Award* and "Best Restaurant" winner in the recent Suffolk Food & Drink Awards, Chef Chris Lee is very pleased to have the opportunity to showcase game:

"The Bildeston Crown is set in the most beautiful Suffolk countryside and nothing seems more natural or more English to me, than to offer local game to our guests. We are very fortunate to have so many excellent game suppliers in the region and well for any chef who sets his standards by the freshness and quality of the produce he uses, this is just fantastic."
