Fondant Textiles, an elegant designer range of aprons and table runners by textile designer Nicola Fryer, is exclusively available at Squires Kitchen before its nationwide launch in the spring.

Nicola's beautiful table-linen was inspired by the detailed, monochromatic drawings of Victorian cutlery and other kitchenware in antique books, which became the starting point for her stunning contemporary prints.

Her nostalgic designs are available in two colours: green illustrations on white and antique gold illustrations on white. With further collections in progress, the brand is set to become a permanent fixture in many homes across the UK and beyond.

Nicola felt a strong pull towards textiles from a young age, inspired by everything from the opulent fabrics of Hampton Court Palace through to the vibrant colours of India and all the way to South Africa. She graduated in textile design from the Royal College of Art in London and went to spend a year in southern India as one of the first British textile designers at a large silk weaving mill in the city of Bangalore. On returning to the UK, Nicola was snapped up by exclusive British furnishings brand, which led her to a textile design opportunity in South Africa. Cape Town became Nicola's home from home and she used her creative flair to design decorative furnishing fabrics for the upper end of the South African and international interior design industry.

The Fondant range has a quintessentially English feel, making ideal gifts for family or friends who love cooking and entertaining at home.
