Easter is quickly approaching, and a great baking alternative this year, is to create these brilliant Easter Egg Cake Pops. Not only are these cake pops simple to create, they're also a great alternative Easter gift for friends and family, and are sure to keep the kids busy over the Easter break!
Specialist online cake and decorating suppliers MakeBake have created an easy to follow, step by step guide to creating these Eggcellent Easter Egg Cake Pops!
To create the Easter Egg Cake Pops, you will need;
- Cake Mix of your choice
- Cakepop Baking Tray
- Frosting
- Cake Pop Sticks
- Coloured Icing (Pink, White, Green and Blue)
- Cake pop stand or Styrofoam block
- Small white ribbon
- A Cup of tea (to enjoy with a cake pop after all your hard work)
Step 1:
Once you have mixed all the ingredients for your favourite cake recipe, using the cakepop baking tray, carefully spoon mix into each individual mould. This baking tray will produce 20 perfectly shaped cake pops ready for you to decorate once cooled.
Step 2:
Once cooled in the fridge for 20-30 minutes, securely stick your cake pop sticks onto each ball of cake. A top tip is to dip the top of each stick in icing before attaching to each cake ball, this will add extra stability to your cake pops.
Step 3:
Roll out your coloured icing and cut circles, big enough to cover each of your cake pops. Roll the icing around each cake pop and cut off any additional icing to give them a professional, clean cut finish.
Step 4:
Create small flowers and icing ribbons to decorate the individual cake pops using the leftover icing used to decorate your easter cake pops. Use alternative coloured icing decorations for each cake pop to make sure the detail stands out. We suggest standing your cake pops when decorating, you can use a simple Styrofoam block or a cake pop holder to keep them secure when standing. If you’re not confident creating small flowers to decorate, why not simply addsprinkles for an easy, effective alternative to detailed designs.
Step 5:
As a finishing touch, simply tie a small white ribbon in a beautiful bow at the base of each cake pop.
We hope you enjoy creating these beautiful cake pops as much as we did! Cakepops also work very well for birthdays, baby showers or just as a small treat for your family. All products to create the perfect cakepops can be found online at: www.MakeBake.co.uk
