11 Dec 2014
Thursday 19 to Sunday 22 February 2015
Now in its third year and again set for a sell-out weekend, the 2015 Craft Beer Rising festival in London is ready to shake everyone out of their winter blues. Craft beer, quality street food and music come together for this unmissable weekender at the atmospheric Old Truman Brewery in East London. Expect 70 breweries bringing some 450 beers, wholesome street food, and music headliners all under one roof [Previous years include Mr Scruff and Norman Jay MBE]. Tickets are on sale now and include £5 worth of beer tokens and a festival glass. This big brother of craft beer festivals is the action packed highlight of the new London Beer Week, when every reputable beer adventurer will be heading to town. www.craftbeerrising.co.uk.
Be sure to get your hands on Craft Beer Rising tickets early; every year has been a whirlwind sell-out. The 2015 festival hosts an extra session, more breweries and beers, and still retains that convivial party mood in an attractively styled-up, vibrant urban space. There are tastings and beers to drink in or take home from breweries that reflect diverse, established and experimental brewing. Already, these include Beavertown, Fourpure, Adnams, Purity, Duvel and some new surprises from distant shores.
Fill up on hearty cook-ups, British charcuterie, classic comfort food, fish dinners, inventive vegetarian eats, and ribs and burgers by street food champions Burger Bear, Fleischmob, and more. Entertaining beer talks, experimentation, beer banter and debates by leading experts will keep you thinking whilst drinking. If you are after Christmas gift ideas, buy a Craft Beer Rising ticket and receive a free Craft Beer Rising magazine. It will give plenty of insider tips about choice beers, the most happening bars and pubs and beery treats to keep you busy until the big festival.
Craft Beer Rising co-founder Daniel Rowntree adds, “With two Craft Beer Rising London festivals, and a Glasgow festival successfully completed, we're now dreaming up new adventures for our many returning visitors in 2015. If you want to see why craft beer is sweeping the nation, the festival will immerse you right in. This expertly organized, comfortable event will let you enjoy the beers, the food, the music and new friends to the full. Taking care of the whole experience is what we do best. A quarter of all British adults – that's 13 million - have drunk craft beer in the UK in a recent six months, and with more and more female drinkers, there is great demand for a well curated event, where brewers and experts are on hand to enhance the experience. Imagine, 187 new breweries opened in 2013. Here is where you can keep up with all the innovation”. [Sources: Mintel, CAMRA Good Beer Guide.]
