Phil Teissl is a foodie with a difference. He began a career in the food service industry, decided it wasnt for him and studied nutrition and fitness instead. Phil combined his interests and developed Its All About Food, a range of prepared products that meet the market at every level.
The innovative, healthy and exciting range of Australian native foods is aimed at the mainstream market. The range includes prepared dishes and portion cut meats as well as wild herbs and spices from the bush.
Phil says we all know the rules of good nutrition but they are hard to follow when the food is tasteless and the preparation time consuming. The Its All About Food range of chemical and hormone free meals is suitable for everyday consumption.
It is perfect for health conscious, time-poor consumers wanting full flavoured, low fat, high quality foods that can be stored in the freezer and heated in the microwave or oven. We developed the ideas of creating tasty, nutritious meals for health conscious gourmets and easy-to-work with game cuts for chefs to cook in restaurants, he says.
The Its All about Food range is suitable for people who want the best nutritional value in an easy to prepare package and chefs who want to promote Australian fare.
The chemical-free prepared meals are suitable for people with health concerns such as diabetics and coronary heart care patients. Gluten free dieters can enjoy the range of biodynamic sauces, chutneys and relishes. The sauces are ultra low in sodium and contain less than 0.8 per cent fat. The nutritious, balanced meals are made from high quality natural products to give sensational flavours and beautiful aromas.
The products are versatile. Try the bolognaise sauce the traditional way with spaghetti; pour it over ravioli, cannelloni, stuffed capsicum, potato or eggplant. It can be used to make a low fat chilli con carne just add beans. The best news is that this bolognaise only has 0.1gram of saturated fat with a total of 0.3g fat, 9.2grams of protein and 9.3grams of carbohydrate. The all-natural ingredients are gluten free.
The lasagne is a gourmet treat topped with delicious lemon myrtle bchamel sauce with only 0.3g saturated fat and 0.8gram fat total. You can eat all the pies with only 2.9gram saturated fat and 5.5g fat total. Tuck in guilt free to this chunky meat filled treat without worrying about textured vegetable protein (TVP) or MSG.
Phil says the kangaroo korma curry pies are a big winner. The emu with native saltbush potato and semi dried tomato, and the kangaroo bolognaise with bush tomato and Tasmanian native pepperleaf are real crowd pleasers. Everyone raves about the kangaroo lasagne with fragrant lemon myrtle bchamel, he says.
Its All About Food was a runner up in the Queensland Fine Food Show prestigious Best New Product Awards and listed in the top three of 300 entrants in the biannual event. This showcase accelerated demand for top quality Australian game meat including kangaroo, emu. buffalo, crocodile and rabbit. Export opportunities are now being discussed.
The Its All About Food range is now sold in Australia through IGA and Foodworks supermarkets. Phil says the recent IGA- Foodworks Expo helped present his products to the supermarket chains. The annual expo gives supermarket owners from all over Australia the opportunity to see new products.
We showed Its All About Food and Outback Pride gluten-free sauces, chutney and relish. The buyers were impressed, these products are now available from selected stores along Australias east coast from Byron Bay to Cairns, he says.
Seems the market cant get enough of Phils food. The Gold Coast City Councils Innovation House shows future lifestyle options including food. The locally produced Its All About Food range of low fat pies, lasagne, sausages and sauces will feature in Tastes of Tomorrow at Innovation House next Sunday from 10am to 3pm.
Phil says food lovers are welcome to drop buy and sample the products. People in the food industry will have the opportunity to try our products at the Gold Coast Food Forum Regional Produce and Services Expo on Friday, August 18 from 10am to noon.
Everyone is welcome to see whats news in food on Friday from noon to 5pm and again on Saturday, August 19 from 10am to 5pm. The Gold Coast Food Forum has sent invitations to food service professionals, hotels, restaurants and tuckshop convenors. .
