Conrad Treasury Brisbane has this week announced the appointments of both the Executive Chef and Marco Polo Chef du Cuisine positions.
Lee Kuhnell has been at the helm of the casino�s lab bar + restaurant as Sous Chef for more than three years and steps into the new role effective immediately.
General Manager Hotel and Food & Beverage Chris McBride said Lee�s hard work and outstanding results at the lab had earned him the promotion to the Executive Chef role which oversees all restaurants and banquet operations on property.
�Lee has had tremendous success at the lab and this has been acknowledged through numerous award wins, including last year with a win for Best Restaurant (Accommodation Division) at the prestigious Queensland Hotels Association awards.
�It is important for us to recognise and reward the talent we have among our current team members, so it�s an absolute delight to see Lee step up into this role,� he said.
Mark Jensen, most recently the head chef at Voyages Resort, Lizard Island, has commenced at Conrad Treasury as the Chef du Cuisine of Marco Polo Dining Cellar Martini Bar.
Mr McBride said Mark�s experience at Lizard Island had prepared him for the rigours of heading up one of Brisbane�s most renowned and awarded restaurants.
�Marco Polo is somewhat of an icon in the Brisbane culinary scene and has shown it can match it with the best in the country - last year being jointly awarded the Best Restaurant (Accommodation Division) at the Australian Hotels Association Awards.
�Mark has trained in some of Brisbane�s best restaurants and gained extensive experience in menu development and team leadership in a five-star environment and is a welcome addition to the Conrad Treasury team,� he said.
Mr McBride said he hoped to appoint a new Sous Chef at lab bar + restaurant in the near future and will be looking both internally and in the open market.
