A Night in Paris... and what a night it was! Cosmopolitans for a Cause

J & J O

Last night over 400 guests attended the 4th annual 'Cosmopolitans for a Cause' fundraiser hosted by J & J O'Brien for the McGrath Foundation. Set over two JJO venues, Cohibar and The Watershed Hotel, this year's event was themed 'a night in Paris'... and oh, what night it was raising $8496!

The aptly named event continued its support of breast cancer, having supported the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation in previous years, with free cosmopolitans flowing for two hours while guests enjoyed the Parisian chic party, the male models and the hair & cosmetic pampering. Further adding to the overall donation, guests purchased raffle tickets for highly desirable gifts including items from a bouquet of leading fashion houses. In all, a respectable $8496 was raised for the McGrath foundation from this year's event.

These much-needed funds will aid in the foundations two main objectives: to raise money to place breast care nurses in communities right across Australia; and to educate young women to become breast aware.

The venue was transformed for the evening, complete with an Eiffel tower on entry, Café Momus and scattered French pieces within. The addition of cute cushions, silhouette imagery and an old romance on screen, it was a classique girls dream! Gelatissimo bambinos, YouTime hair and cosmetic station and a photo fun booth kept everyone entertained. But none more so than the sexy six piece band 'Back to Funk' who unleashed a high-octane mix of funk, soul and contemporary grooves plus some French theme favourites... ooh la la!

Guests were greeted by a bevy of male hosts and four very easy-on-the-eye topless male models wearing bowties who were adored by all the female guests. Especially when they presented the raffle prizes including a Prada Tweed Bag, value $2100, Gucci tote, value $1945, Bvlgari B.zero1 pink gold and white ceramic ring, value $1180 and Jimmy Choo Caro Clutch, value $750 along with many other wonderful prizes! All guests were also given gift bags at the end of the night with lots of fun products valued over $100RRP each.

Guests snacked on a variety of food including 'Soup De Jour', fresh oysters plus a mix of delicious canapés including lavosh chicken liver parfait with port wine onion relish, confit duck with orange salsa, wilted baby spinach and slow roasted pork belly with olive tapenade chilli jam AND the addition of a mezze bar all organized by 2009 AHA National Chef of the Year, and JJO Group Executive Head Chef, Daniel Fountain.

"The Cosmopolitans for a Cause event is our largest annual fundraiser and each year I am so proud to see the event go from strength to strength. This year's event was wonderful, very enjoyable, and we are very happy to have supported the McGrath Foundation for the first time. We are looking forward to next year's event already!" J & J O'Brien Director Judith Crawley said.

Be sure to keep your eyes and ears open for the 5th annual event in 2012.
