UK's Leading Vegan Bakery Brand Oggs® Wins Tesco's With Daring Social Media Stunt

OGGs

It was a picture of two celebs fist bumping at a game, with their faces playfully covered with the Tesco and OGGS® brand logos, that sparked a conversation leading to a listing at the UK's biggest supermarket.

Calling on the power of its fans, known as “OGGERS”, the OGGS® marketing team encouraged fans to tag Tesco in the comments and ask for OGGS® products to be stocked. And it worked.

In line with an impressive annual growth of 54% to become the UK's largest vegan bakery brand1, the OGGS® Bites will launch in over 500 Tesco stores this month, the brands biggest supermarket listing to date.

The creative social media post read:

“OGGERS, there's a love story greater than Romeo and Juliet waiting to happen. We know we are meant to be together, but they (Tesco) are playing hard to get and we need your help. If you want to see our cakes in Tesco's stores across the UK, tag them in the comments below @Tescofood and help us get their attention. It's a long shot but every little helps 😉.

Hannah Carter, Founder of OGGS®, comments: “This is such an important milestone for us here at OGGS®. We're making it even easier for people to enjoy plant-based food choices that not only taste incredible but are now more accessible too. As a brand, we have a clear mission to remove unnecessary animal products from the food chain, and if we all make a small contribution through buying plant-based products where we can, it will make an enormous difference”.

Tesco shoppers will be able to choose from irresistibly fudgy Brownie Bites or indulgent caramel Millionaire Bites to tantalise the tastebuds.

These convenient, fun-sized snacks are ideal for sharing with loved ones (or not!) and come in handy packs to stow in your pocket, bag, or lunchbox, perfect to grab and go for any occasion. Making a slow return to the office or stepping aboard your first flight of the year? Make sure you have a packet of the OGGS® Bites to hand.

From only 59 calories per bite and with packaging made from recycled materials customers can indulge guilt free. The OGGS® Brownie Bites are powered by OGGS® Egg Alternative Aquafaba, the UK's leading liquid egg alternative for home-baking and cooking2.

The entire OGGS® brand is plant-based and aims to be as ethical as possible, with a mission to create products that are better for the planet, animals, and people by replacing animal protein in food products for plants. Products are packaged in recycled materials that are also recyclable.

Try OGGS® Bites this November by popping into your local Tesco store and share the love on socials by tagging @loveoggs.

Launching into Tesco on the 15th November 2021, OGGS® Bites come in a pack of 9 with an RRP of £2.25.
