The Future (For Afternoon Tea) Is Bright. The Future's Orange

The Orangery At Kensington Palace

Regal Afternoon Tea Venue - Kensington Palace's Orangery - rings the changes with elegant makeover

VISITS TO SAMPLE THE NEW AFTERNOON TEA AVALABLE ON REQUEST

The Orangery at Kensington Palace has long been regarded as one of London's hidden gems for anyone seeking delightful, historic afternoon tea in perfect English Garden surroundings - and at a fraction of the cost charged by more famous alternatives. Some fresh new changes have made 2013 the ideal time to visit.

To make this quintessentially British experience even more special, the team at The Orangery has introduced a series of innovations that will delight both seasoned clientele and new visitors. These include a new menu that replicates the style of food typically served at royal garden parties; an aristocratic bone china tea service exclusive to the Historic Royal Palaces; a subtle makeover for the Grade II listed building and staff uniforms; and the launch of private dining and a table reservation facility.

Queen Anne's 18th-century Orangery, in the heart of Kensington Gardens, was once the setting for lavish court entertainments and is now the perfect location for an indulgent afternoon tea. When the weather is fine, guests can sit outside on the terrace and enjoy the views of the palace and its elegant gardens.  This palatial indulgence comes at exceptionally good value. The afternoon tea - a meal in its own right - costs £22.65, which is as much as half the price charged at other famous London venues.
