The viewers of Dubai One TV, one of the channels of Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), will be in a great time with a bouquet of special programs planned during the holy month of Ramadan.

These programs have been created in line wither the keenness of DMI and Dubai One to keep up with events taking place in the holy month of Ramadan and not only for Arabic language speakers, for English speakers as well.

Sarah Al Jarman, Director of Dubai One TV stressed: "The celebration of the holy month reflects the prominent place occupied by the channel as an advanced media platform which is very popular among the viewers at the local, regional and global level.

She added that the Ramadan bouquet would contribute to strengthen the outstanding position of Dubai One TV as the leading producer of high-quality programs in terms of form and content locally produced in the studios of DMI.

"The viewer will have the opportunity to enjoy watching a distinct bouquet of movies and TV shows selected in line with sensitivities of Arab societies," Al Jarman disclosed.

She confirmed that the production of local programs is in the interest of the development of local talent and contributes to the development of local and Arab media production industry in Dubai in particular and the UAE in general.

"The Ramadan bouquet will spread awareness among the English-speakers about Dubai message and its achievements, vision and culture of the UAE in particular and the Arab and Islamic culture in general," Al Jarman pointed out

She assured that the management of the Dubat One TV is very keen on locally-produced programs which we can communicate and address the concerns of residents and citizens in the United Arab Emirates.

"Dubai One is outstanding TV channel and what has distinguished it is the production of local programs for an English-language channel. We, in Dubai One TV are already betting on the popularity of these new programs."

She disclosed that viewers of Dubai One will watch for the second consecutive year the City Wrap program in Ramadan.

The City Wrap show will be broadcast from Sunday to Thursday starting at 18:00 local time (14:00 GMT).

The City Wrap program will be presented by the Emarati Anchor Ilham Al Hammadi in her debut showing. It will be a guide on what one needs to know about the habits and the traditions of the Emiratis during the month of Ramadan.

The program also sheds light on Iftar and Suhoor as well as the activities of Ramadan Tents. It will be live on air from the place of actions which gives the opportunity for viewers to follow up throughout the week.

In addition to the most important local and cultural events which will be hosted and organized during Ramadan, the program will host distinguished specialists in various fields.

Viewers of Dubai One will have the opportunity to watch the program, Understanding Islam, which is broadcast every day starting at 18:30 local time (14:30 GMT).

Understanding Islam is the first religious program in Ramadan produced by Dubai One. It is a distinctive and unique experience for the channel and its audience of Arabs and native speakers in English.

Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al Kubaisi, the First Mufti at the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai will present the program Understanding Islam.

The program sheds light on the religious rituals and religious customs and prayers in Ramadan and guides people on how to prepare themselves for the month and to gain the maximum spiritual benefit.

The program will give all the information related with the Eid prayers and special rituals, and how to apply the deep and comprehensive faith in our daily habits.

Sarah Jarman called on the viewers of the Dubai One TV, to enjoy the programs.

She noted that the Dubai One will launch new programs after the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr.

"These will be in the new season through special local programs such as Studio One, and Out & About This Week, which is a television youth magazine as also Emirates 24/7 program which reflects the world of finance and business, along with news of the UAE in English.
