As Kate Bracks was crowned MasterChef Australia Series Three winner after a down-to-the-wire finale on Sunday, MasterChef Magazine threw the switch and the presses rolled to print the September 2011 Collector's Edition.
In a white-knuckle, three-part challenge, Kate and Michael faced off over a Mystery Box to end all Mystery Boxes, a 'best dish of your life' Invention Test, and finally, Danish maestro René Redzepi's 'abominable' snowman. It was a close call, but congratulations goes to Kate for a well-deserved win.
Celebrate Kate's success, plus other Series Three highlights, in this month's special issue of MasterChef Magazine. Released this week, the digital issue, which was ranked number one on the free lifestyle iPad application downloads list and number three overall just two weeks after launching, will be available to buy at the iTunes store. Go behind the scenes with the finalists and watch Adriano Zumbo constructing his gingerbread house step by step. Or pick up the magazine this week at leading newsagents, supermarkets and convenience stores.
In this issue: the final four, Kate, Michael, Alana and Dani, each create a Father's Day menu exclusively for the magazine. Plus, the judges pick a few of their favourite dishes from Series Three. And, after that wicked final Pressure Test Elimination challenge, dessert maestro Zumbo brings you his cheat's version of his gingerbread house, with an easy-to-follow, step-by-step recipe that includes to-scale diagrams.
Also this month, Matt Moran offers some great advice on some basic cooking techniques to try at home; Gary Mehigan treats George Calombaris to a delicious spring menu in this month's masterclass and Curtis Stone limbers up for the new season with a healthy take on some family favourites. Marion Grasby shows us how to create a delicious dish without wasting a crumb; Junior MasterChef judge Anna Gare demonstrates how easy it is to make homemade pasta; and, in The Professionals, Elvis Abrahanowicz and Ben Milgate, the rockabilly chef/owners of Sydney's Bodega and Porteño, have fun demonstrating a signature dessert, Bodega banana split.
MasterChef Magazine food director Sophia Young shows us six clever recipes, in which bread takes centre stage; she also whips up quick and delicious dishes in 30-Minute Meals; and solves the midweek dinner dilemma with five easy recipes in Mystery Box. Plus, we've got the ultimate big brekky covered to spoil dad with this Father's Day.
The MasterChef Magazine App is available as a free download from the iTunes store, and the latest issue will be available for download this week from within the MasterChef Magazine App for only $2.99. Or pick up the magazine this week at leading newsagents, supermarkets & convenience stores, for just $4.95.
