Fresh Catering Wins Highest Events Catering Accolade in Australia

Fresh named "Best Event Caterer 2011" at National Restaurant and Catering Awards.

 

Sydney based culinary leader, Fresh Catering has been awarded the top Events Catering accolade at the Australian Restaurant and Catering Awards for Excellence National Finals at a star studded event at Sydney's Luna Park this week.  500 industry icons gathered for what has become the industry's "night of nights" showcasing Australia's finest, each acknowledged for excellence in their fields. 

 

Australia's leading event caterers had been selected by a state awards process which identified the finest event caterers in each state.  Fresh Catering was selected from this eminent group for the highest accolade for their outstanding performance at the 300 guest Garvan Institute of Medical Research, $1000 per plate fundraising dinner at the Byron Kennedy Hall in 2011. 

 

Commenting on the award win, Managing Director, Mr. Peter McCloskey said, "2011 has proved to be an amazing year for Fresh.  We were fortunate to be acknowledged as "Caterer of the Year"; "Best Wedding Caterer" and "Best Event Caterer" by the NSW Restaurant & Catering Association's 2011 Awards for Excellence with this national award sealing Fresh's leadership position in the industry.  We are thrilled, delighted and humbled all at the same time.  We congratulate the other finalists on their own accomplishments and we recognize the honour that has been bestowed upon us. "

 

This prestigious award for the company comes at a significant juncture in the company's journey and follows the launch earlier this month of the stunning new Rooftop Venues at the Museum of Contemporary Art, where Fresh Catering is exclusive caterer, as well as last month's launch of the company's exclusive contract with the brand new two hundred million dollar development, The Concourse Chatswood.  More high profile contracts will follow in 2012 with Fresh Catering recently named as exclusive caterer at the inaugural "Opera on Sydney Harbour" which will debut in March.

 

BACKGROUND

 

Fresh Catering is a collaboration of two of Australia's most respected catering talents, Peter McCloskey and Julie Little. Peter established Fresh Catering in 1999 after selling his award-winning The Mode Group and a stellar food career with the best in the business among them, Qantas Airways Ltd and Hilton International. Julie joined Fresh Catering in 2000 bringing with her a wealth of local and international experience from highly coveted positions in Sydney and London, with world renowned brands including Intercontinental Hotels; The Pelham in London; Sydney House Hotel in Chelsea, London; The Rockpool Restaurant Group and a pivotal, large scale catering role with SOCOG.

 

Fresh Catering is an appointed Gold Licence Caterer with the Restaurant and Catering Industry Association of NSW and are members of the Meetings & Events Australia Association (MEA).  Fresh Catering have won awards for Best Boardroom Caterer 2010 NSW Restaurant & Catering Awards, Best Caterer at an Event 2007-2009 NSW Restaurant & Catering Awards, City of Sydney Business Awards 2009 Catering Services and Event Caterer of the Year 2007-2008 BT Publishing E-Awards.
