Fancy Pants Amber Ale Celebrating the art of 'Craft'

Mountain Goat

Mountain Goat has collected a swag of awards over the years for its traditional, all natural ales and now has an ever increasing number of bars and bottleshops around the country stocking its beers on tap and in bottle. So why Mountain Goat? Well, a mountain goat's a big hairy animal that's never gonna fall over.

Craft beer artisans Cam and Dave have harnessed the distinctive characteristics of their original Hightail Ale and employed their creative flare to embellish it by incorporating five malts and then generously hopping with Tasmanian Galaxy hops late during fermentation.

“The addition of Fancy Pants to the Mountain Goat family is a true celebration of craft beer. We’ve spent some time playing around with the Hightail, and injected some creativity into the art of brewing it. The result is a spicy, fruity ale with a firm backbone, it’s fancy,” Comments Dave Bonighton, Co-Founder of Mountain Goat Beer.

Available in Autumn and Winter, the limited edition release stays true to brand, encompassing the full bodied flavours that Mountain Goat is known for and is naturally brewed avoiding preservatives and additives.

For the beer geeks, the numbers are 5.2% adv, 30BU, 35EBC, AE 3.0 and is best enjoyed with a side of fun.

About Mountain Goat

Like any great success story, Mountain Goat started in Co-Founder Dave’s backyard in the early 90’s. Inspired by back-packing around Canada, long-time friend and Co-Founder Cam had an epiphany that read, on a post-card he sent to Dave, something like this “We gotta talk, we need to start a microbrewery in Melbourne…” the rest is history. Today the boys operate their own microbrewery in Richmond (inner Melbourne). They craft the Hightail Ale, Organic Steam Ale and IPA plus seasonal beers in longnecks like the Surefoot Stout, Rapunzel and Rye IPA.
