Domani Reopens Following a Facelift

Hong Kong - 2nd November 2009 --- Domani, the popular contemporary Italian fine dining restaurant in Pacific Place, has reopened after a makeover and is now under the supervision of new General Manager, Giovanni Perna, a seasoned professional who has a distinguished career track record in some of the world�s finest hotels.

Domani has been remodeled with white leather furniture in the bar area and bright white counter tops, giving it a futuristic sleek outlook that is further accented by the flowing steel �ribbon� rooftop. Dining lights have been re-installed with intricately designed exteriors of swirling black detail, giving the restaurant a brighter glow, but still offering an intimate setting. The kitchen has been revamped with the very latest culinary technology in order to complement executive chef, Michele Bernnachia�s delicately crafted dishes. Giovanni Perna, meanwhile, brings a new style of hospitality to the restaurant. His passion for food and beverage began when he joined celebrated two Michelin star restaurant, Rossellini�s in the Hotel Palazzo Sasso in Ravello, Italy. This early start in the world of fine dining led him into event organization where he worked with world renowned chef, Sergio Mei at the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan, managing some of Europe�s most highly regarded wine events and dinners. In 2007, Perna took on the prestigious role of hotel Sommelier for the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, while simultaneously managing the hotel�s famous Grissini restaurant.

In addition to his extensive F&B knowledge, Perna has an impressive academic background which includes a degree in Business Economics, a Masters in Hotel Management, and a professional sommelier accreditation from the Italian Sommelier Association (AIS) - a high ranking qualification recognized in more than 50 countries worldwide.

To celebrate the new happenings at Domani, there is a also a brand new a la carte menu and a special two month promotional menu to celebrate the white truffle season (dependent on market supply).

Beyond simply creating innovative menus and developing new cooking techniques, Chef Michele is also a qualified teacher, conducting regular courses at the Panzini restaurant and catering school, one of Italy�s premier culinary institutes. As an Italian culinary ambassador, Chef Michele has presented his creativity in Stockholm and Tokyo by organizing and cooking for Italian Gastronomy Weeks. Since accepting the position of DOMANI executive chef, Chef Michele has introduced a number of new items to the a la carte menu.
