The brand new offering from esteemed Margaret River producer Evans & Tate The Reserve is further testament to the winerys commitment to consolidating its position as a leading producer of premium wine. The Reserve range consists of wines made with select parcels of fruit from Evans & Tates most outstanding vineyards throughout Margaret River. The inaugural release of The Reserve range includes the 2003 Chardonnay, 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2004 Shiraz.
Blended for style, elegance and complexity, these wines are the ultimate expression of the vintage and the variety and represent the synergy between viticulture and winemaking.
The Reserve range was created to showcase our very best vineyards and to fully express Margaret Rivers unique terroir, says Evans & Tate Senior Winemaker Richard Rowe.
Evans & Tate has long been recognised as a producer of premium wine with a commitment to delivering quality beyond expectation. The Reserve range of wines further exemplifies our companys commitment to quality, the Margaret River region and the industry.
Fruit for each of the wines is sourced from vineyard sites that enable the variety to produce a superior stylistic expression. Winemakers carefully manage the progression from the vineyard right through to the winemaking process to ensure that this complex balance of flavours is expressed in the bottle. The 2003 season in Margaret River, characterised by warm days and cool nights, was typical of the region and ideal for premium Cabernet Sauvignon production. The Reserve 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon displays excellent intensity and length of finish. 2003 was also kind to Chardonnay; The Reserve 2003 Chardonnay displays the exceptional length and balance, natural acidity and concentrated fruit flavours for which Margaret River Chardonnay is esteemed. The Reserve 2004 Shiraz is produced from vineyards that have consistently produced Evans & Tates highest quality Shiraz. The wine displays rich, ripe flavours and impressive colour and tannin levels. Each of the wines in The Reserve range will drink well now or benefit from cellaring.
