Accor Signs Agreement with Megaworld to Bring Mercure Brand to Cebu

PHILIPPINES - Accor, a global leader in hospitality, is expanding its presence in the Philippines through an agreement with Megaworld, the country's largest township developer and operator of homegrown hotel brands, to open Mercure Mactan Cebu in the fourth quarter of 2025. This latest signing reflects Accor's commitment to expanding its footprint across established and emerging destinations in Asia, adding 550 keys to the Group's portfolio in the region.

Mercure Mactan Cebu is located in Megaworld's 30-hectare mixed-use township. The Mactan Newtown in Lapu-Lapu City, which features the Mactan Newtown Beach, office buildings, retail outlets, residential condominiums. Also in the township is the Mactan Expo, which is poised to become a major hub for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE), while offering strong leisure appeal for both Asian and domestic travellers.

Mercure Hotels offer more than just a place to sleep; they are a warm invitation to discover the locale, ensuring guests are instantly immersed in a locally inspired atmosphere that reflects the unique essence of each destination. Mercure Mactan Cebu will immerse guests in the vivid Filipino culture through its décor and dining experiences. Nestled on a scenic seaside ridge, the hotel will offer an all-day dining restaurant, bars, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, a business lounge and versatile indoor and outdoor event spaces.
