Luxury wine and champagne brand, Porte Noire, has signed a deal with Hallgarten Wines to secure increased distribution of its still and sparkling wines across on and off-trade channels.
The new partnership will see Hallgarten Wines, one of the UK's leading specialist wine importers, add Porte Noire's collection of four champagnes, which includes Porte Noire Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Vintage Champagne, Petite Porte Blanc de Blancs, Petite Porte Extra Brut and Petite Porte Rosé Champagne; as well as the new Porte Noire Collection still Rosé, to its unrivalled portfolio of world-leading wines.
Co-founded in 2018 by wine expert David Farber and actor Idris Elba, Porte Noire is a highly acclaimed wine brand, renowned for producing still and sparkling wines of the highest quality that evoke sophistication and excellence.
With demand for its portfolio on the rise, the distribution deal is set to significantly extend the availability of Porte Noire across premium on-trade establishments; as well as off-trade retail partners.
David Farber, co-founder and wine expert, said: “The response to Porte Noire has been phenomenal and as we continue to extend our wine portfolio the time was right to bring on board a distribution partner to create even more opportunities for people to experience the brand – either in a luxury on-trade setting or via extended listings in wine merchants across the UK.
“Hallgarten's reputation and experience in the industry is second to none with an extensive portfolio which features the very best wines from across the world. Their values and approach to seeking out the very best partners aligns very closely with our own and we are confident that this is going to be a long-term partnership that will be an important next step in the journey of Porte Noire.”
Jim Wilson, Portfolio Director at Hallgarten & Novum Wines, commented: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to work closely with David, Idris and the team on the Porte Noire brand. The wines are exquisite, and the team's mindset is perfectly aligned with our ambitions and the direction we are taking our range as we look to create the most enviable portfolio in the industry. We are confident our customers will, like ourselves, become enormous fans of each wine.”
The full Porte Noire range will be available to taste at Hallgarten Wines' two-day Annual Tasting, at Old Billingsgate in London, on Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th January, where they will be showing over 1,000 wines from across their portfolio.

About Porte Noire:
Porte Noire, meaning 'black door' in French, was born in 2018 from a shared passion for wine between David Farber (formally Connaught Cellars) and Actor Idris Elba. David's wealth of knowledge and experience in the wine trade and Idris's verve and eye for what's next has enabled them to curate a delicious and unique collection of wines. This venture began after Idris and David visited the historical and prestigious Sanger viticultural school in Champagne,
France, in 2018. By 2020 the first bottles of the now critically acclaimed Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru vintage Champagne rolled out of cellars. Following the success of their debut collaboration, the duo set their sights on finding the next exclusive Porte Noire selection. After an exploratory trip to Provence, the pair settled with Vins et Vignobles Fayard in Côtes de Provence. Porte Noire Collection Rose is a mineral, crisp, refreshing, certified organic top-end Provence rosé.
