Palm Greens X Citizens of Soil
Plant-based pioneers and EVOO specialists to host supper club at Studio Kitchen, Hackney
London, 11 September 2024. On Saturday, 5 October, East London supper club hosts, Palm Greens and olive oil industry champions Citizens of Soil are proud to present a one-off event at Studio Kitchen in Hackney.
Over four delicious courses, Palm Greens co-founders, Kali and Memby Jago, and Sarah Vachon, co-founder of Citizens of Soil, will host an evening celebrating connection, collaboration, and community incorporating Citizens of Soil Extra Rare Portuguese Olive Oil, produced by one of its inspiring female producers.
The vibrant, vegetable-forward menu created by chef Kali will be accompanied by a range tasting from olive oil sommelier Sarah and showcase the small batch multi-award-winning Portuguese oil, which is floral, clean and peppery, high in polyphenols, and packed with antioxidants.
One of CoS "Extra Rare" limited batches, the oil from the Alto Alentejo wine region of Portugal is best used as a finishing EVOO to keep the high level of antioxidants and peppery flavour intact.
Enhancing the event’s themes, guests will also enjoy Dirty Martinis created with Olive Oil Vodka made by Hackney-based, female-founded distillery 58 & CO — in collaboration with Citizens of Soil.
Kali Jago of Palm Greens comments, “As a chef, high-quality EVOO is a key component in my style of cooking, which is global, and flavour forward using natural ingredients and beautiful seasonal produce. I trained at the Natural Gourmet Institute, a cooking school that focuses on vegetarian health-supportive cooking, so an oil that presents superior taste, health benefits, and provenance is like an elixir for me—it really does have transformative properties.”
Sarah Vachon co-founder of Citizens of Soil adds, “We’re super excited to partner with Palm Greens to create this beautiful evening of food and drink. The olive oil farmed and milled by Ana Cardoso, one of the most incredible producers we’ve ever met, is a part of our range we are proud to offer our members. Kali’s fresh and vibrant cooking style is what it’s made for.”
Tickets are on sale via the Palm Greens website; www.palmgreens.co.uk/events
Only 40 seats are available, priced at £55 pp. Ticket price includes welcome cocktail by 58 & CO.

About Palm Greens
Seeing a gap in the market for fresh, fun, and healthy lunches, Kali and Memby Jago founded Palm Greens, a multi-disciplinary brand focused on flavour-forward, plant-based cuisine. Their ethos is centred around a culinary experience connected with nature and sustainability, bringing vegetables and wholegrains to the centre stage of a meal. In addition to being a sought-after event partner for brands such as Matches Fashion and Wolf & Badger, Palm Greens operates in Arcade Food Hall in central London serving nutritious food without compromising on taste.
About Citizens of Soil
Citizens of Soil, a B Corp™, is turning a commodity into a community through their
show-stopping brand for modern citizens who care about quality, transparency, and
sustainability.
With a cult following for their letterbox Olive Oil Club, Citizens of Soil is changing the
olive oil industry for good. They source directly from small-scale producers who
practise regenerative farming, and champion the remarkable women who make their
award-winning oils.
Led by an olive oil sommelier, they partner with artisan producers who prioritise
flavour and nutrition, which led them to become the most awarded extra virgin olive
oil brand at the 2024 Great Taste Awards.
Favoured by Michelin-starred chefs in some of London’s top restaurants, you can
find their oils stocked in premium outlets like Selfridges, Fortnum & Mason, Waitrose,
Ocado, and Booths.
