Mercure Sydney has been named the Official Accommodation and Hotel Partner for Sydney Fringe Festival 2024.
Returning to Sydney throughout the entire month of September, Sydney Fringe Festival – one of the world's leading fringe festivals – is an annual 30 day, multi-venue, multi-genre arts and performance festival held across four electrifying precincts in Sydney: Central, Eastern, Inner West, and Greater Sydney. It encompasses genres such as stand-up comedy, music, theatre, cabaret, visual arts, and burlesque.
As Sydney Fringe Festival's Official Accommodation and Hotel Partner, Mercure Sydney is delighted to host the renowned Soweto Gospel Choir, providing them with accommodation during their stay in Sydney.
Mercure Sydney General Manager, Ben Murphy (he/him), said: “We are delighted to work with Sydney Fringe Festival and to contribute to its success by providing excellent hospitality to festival attendees and the spectacular Soweto Gospel Choir. Sydney Fringe Festival is one of Australia's most innovative and captivating celebrations of arts and culture. It is another great reason to visit the city during September.”
Sydney Fringe Festival CEO & Festival Director, Kerri Glasscock (she/her), said: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Mercure Sydney as the official hotel partner for the Sydney Fringe Festival 2024. Both organisations are deeply committed to the development of our city's cultural life and this partnership will amplify that commitment by making possible the performances of the incredible Soweto Gospel Choir who are headlining the festival. We can't wait to share their music with Sydney and look forward to celebrating in September.”
In addition to hosting the Soweto Gospel Choir, Mercure Sydney will enjoy a range of exclusive benefits, including access to show tickets and opportunities for corporate entertaining.
The hotel will also host an exclusive Accor Plus, the leading hotel travel subscription programme in Asia Pacific, member event on September 19 featuring the acclaimed History of House performance at the Spiegeltent Festival Garden in the Entertainment Quarter. This unique event is a dynamic collaboration between DJ Groove Terminator and the Soweto Gospel Choir, celebrating dance music through the decades.
