The Traditional Farmfresh Turkey Association celebrate 40 Years of Delivering the Taste of Christmas
This year the Traditional Farmfresh Turkey Association celebrates 40 years producing the best Christmas turkeys. Formed in 1984 by a group of like-minded farmers passionate about producing the ultimate Christmas Turkeys in terms of eating quality, welfare standards and environmental responsibility, it's no surprise that the farmers continue to receive recognition for their accredited Golden Turkeys®
In the past, turkey was always seen as a once-a-year treat at Christmas, with nearly 100 per cent of all turkeys being sold during December. Today many people are making turkey a part of their regular diet.
Did you know that skinned turkey breast is the leanest of all meats, supplying just 115 calories and less than a gram of fat per 3-ounce serving?
Each turkey is supported by the Golden Turkey® Quality Assurance Guarantee mark, only applied to birds meeting all aspects of the code of quality requirements. Golden Turkeys® are produced solely on selected farms and naturally reared on a quality cereal-based diet. The turkeys are grown to full maturity and to the highest welfare standards, dry plucked and game hung for at least seven days, according to tradition.
Since its inception, the association has amassed a veritable feast of turkey recipes, courtesy of Chef and Food Campaigner Rachel Green. Rachel will be showcasing leftover turkey recipes at the East Midlands Food and Drink Festival, Melton Mowbray on Saturday 5th October 2024.
As the Association celebrates its 40th anniversary, it feels quite apt that we have a Ruby inspired recipe to share with you, Rachel's Leftover Turkey Ruby Murray Curry.
