Press Release, March 2024: Striving for a lower sugar intake this Easter? Or looking to offset those sweet cravings and added chocolate calories with a healthier wine option over the long weekend?

If so, Think Wine could be the perfect choice of fizz.

Low in sugar, calories and carbs, with the bonus that it pairs beautifully with a fish supper on Good Friday, most types of chocolate and even lamb; it's a guilt-free accompaniment to all of your Easter favourites.

This time of year is notoriously difficult for those following a low sugar, low calorie or low carb lifestyle. There is temptation at every turn and more than enough opportunities to overindulge.

Prosecco and sparkling rose are the go-to choice for any celebration – but what if this Easter, there was an option lower in calories, one that retained all of the taste and alcohol percentage volume?

ThinK Wine is an award-winning brand of prosecco and sparkling rose which is a healthier alternative. In blind taste tests it continually outperforms its competitors, winning awards both here in the UK and internationally.

Available to buy from https://www.thinkwinegroup.co.uk, ThinK Wine has just 75 calories and 0g carbs, 0g fat, with 0.58g of residual sugar per 125ml (this is legally classed as zero sugar by UK standards), while still retaining an ABV of 11%. The product contains no artificial sweeteners or ingredients.

ThinK Wine was created by 34-year-old wine entrepreneur Kath Jones from Aigburth Liverpool who during her own weight loss journey discovered a gap in the market for a low sugar wine that crucially, tastes great.

What is the ThinK Wine secret?

A wine that tastes great and is low on calories and sugar may sound too good to be true, but the answer lies in high quality grapes sourced from the Treviso region of Northern Italy.

Many readily available and cheap proseccos use sugar or additives to mask poor quality grapes. ThinK Wine however, allows the taste of the finest Italian Glera grapes to shine through, meaning there is no need for added sugars, flavourings or sugar substitutes.

Thanks to its all-natural ingredients, ThinK Wine is naturally low in sulphites too – meaning less of a hangover this Easter.

EXPERT COMMENT: The perfect Easter pairing for ThinK Wine…

If you've opted for ThinK Wine this Easter, then what should you serve with it?

ThinK Wine fan, wine tasting expert and founder of Liverpool-based firm Bacchus Wine Tasting, Jonathan Garry shares his ideas for pairing this delicious Prosecco and sparkling rose with a range of Easter staples.

Prosecco is probably one of the most versatile food pairing wines so it's (truthfully) quite hard to go wrong.

“White and milk chocolate are the obvious chocolate pairings for Prosecco style sparkling wines this Easter.

“One tip here is to avoid chocolate with high cocoa content. For wine and food pairings you should always seek to match the intensity of the food with that of the wine. ThinK Wine is more delicate and elegant in nature so highly bitter and astringent chocolates will overpower the flavours for ThinK Wine.

“Secondly, as we also pride our delicious ThinK Wines on their reduced sugar content, our wines don't have the sugar levels required to mellow out the bitterness that dark chocolates bring.”

ThinK Pink and Ruby

If you're looking for something a little more luxurious, then a fabulous pairing, particularly with ThinK Wine's sparkling rose, would be ruby chocolate such as Fortnum and Mason's Red Sky at Night Ruby Delight. Ruby chocolate has a fabulous taste profile that is dominated by intense red berry fruitiness along with a touch of sourness. You know what, this is exactly how the luscious sensation of ThinK Pink could he described on your palate. The red berry driven primary characteristics of ThinK PinK along with the naturally high levels of acidity that make this particular wine so light and fresh feeling simply pair divinely the similar characteristics of ruby chocolate.

Traditional Easter Eats…

“As for traditional Easter dishes, well Good Friday traditionally we eat fish. I would say that fish and chips would be a classic pairing for sparkling wine because the naturally occurring high acid cuts though the fatty batter creating that delicious 'cutting through' sensation. ThinK Wine will therefore not only acts as a delicious pairing partner, but also a delightful palate cleanser. More please!

“Finally, although we wouldn't necessarily recommend teaming our award-winning Prosecco with a tradition Easter lamb dinner (it's versatile but it doesn't pair with everything) we would put forward our fabulous sparkling Pinot Grigio rose. The high fruit concentration allows this wine to stand up to stronger flavours whilst the red fruit character of this wine brings out the juiciness  in the lamb (cooked pink naturally).”

Notes to editors

Think Wine is a vegan, organic low-sugar, low-carb brand of prosecco and Pinot Grigio sparkling rose founded by wine entrepreneur Kath Jones. During her own personal battle with sugar, Kath realised there were no other palatable bubbly alternatives with reduced calories and reduced sugar on the market, that crucially didn't compromise on taste. And so, she set to work on creating one for herself.

Quality and taste are everything at ThinK Wine, the company uses only the highest quality Glera grapes from the Treviso region of Italy. Think Wine has the perfect blend of flavours to create palatable wines with a fresh and revitalising finish, despite all of the health-conscious benefits.

All of ThinK Wine's products are made in Italy and are 100% vegan/organic with low sulphites.

The business operates as sustainably as possible and as of March 2023 it is a certified B-Corporation.
