Here, seven unmissable events to fire up your Spring…
QuadCrown MTB Series: The Orca, 8-10 September
Winding through the natural playgrounds of the Sapphire Coast, this unique mountain-bike challenge includes a 8-10km Prelude in Eden, continues to Tathra for Stage One and then returns to Eden for its deciding second stage. Riders will test their mettle on coastal backtrails and a new 50km course with thigh-burning elevations; jaw-dropping views of Twofold Bay; heart-pumping descents, and challenging creek crossings.
Level-up the rush: As you might've guessed from this event's name, the Far South Coast's clear waters are a top spot for close encounters with whales and ocean activities like scuba diving.
Newcrest Orange Challenge, 10 September
Take a spin through the rolling hills of Wiradjuri Country as Orange's iconic cycle race offers the perfect excuse for a weekend escape to Country NSW. Catch all the action from the panoramic sidelines, or sign up to test your stamina: the challenging 170km course includes a steep 2,200m climb, while the new 88km route is slightly less gruelling with 1,342m of elevation. Afterwards, reward yourself with a local drop at more than 60 wineries.
Level-up the rush: Take your adventure sky-high with a hot air balloon flight over neighbouring Canowindra.
Repco Bathurst 1000, 5-8 October
Brace yourself for all the supercharged action as the 60th Anniversary Repco Bathurst 1000 brings the super-car thunder to Mount Panorama over four exhilirating days. Join the family friendly fun trackside as the world's best drivers and motorsport teams battle it out over 1,000km of heart-stopping thrills to win their place on the podium. Plus, there's plenty of entertainment including live music, a motor racing museum, the Matt Hall Air Show, and free General Admission for kids 12 and under.
Level-up the rush: Take a chopper flight for a bird's eye view of all the racing action, and afterwards, fasten your seatbelt for your own V8 supercar driving experience.
Street League Skateboarding, 6-7 October
For the first time in the SLS Championship Tour's illustrious 12-year history, Sydney Olympic Park is hosting the third action-packed event in street skate-boarding's most prestigious challenge. Book your place in the grandstand at the Ken Rosewall Arena as skating greats, including Olympians, flex their skills on the custom-built, one-of-a-kind plaza for a chance at the win.
Level-up the rush: Bump up your heart rate with adventure experiences across the city, including jetboating, jetpacking and BridgeClimb Ultimate.
WEMBO World Solo 24 Hour Mountain Bike Championships, 4-5 November
Feel awe drop your jaw as riders from across the globe roll into the New England High Country to test their stamina on Armidale's challenging 24-hour course. Since 2012, 1677 competitors from 44 countries have accepted the challenge; sign up to take your place among them, or show your support from the sidelines in between exploring Armidale's heritage architecture, cool-climate wineries and waterfalls.
Level-up the rush: The surrounding wilderness offers outstanding rock-climbing and hiking through ancient Gondwana rainforests, and you can take a gravity-defying spin over it on a Warbird or Fighter Jet aerobatic flight.
QuadCrown MTB Series: The Black Pearl, 10-12 November
Head to the North Coast where the thrilling next instalment of the Quad Crown series brings the MTB mayhem to Lake Macquarie. Warm up with the Prelude Loop in Glenrock, before strapping on your helmet for Stage One at Awaba Mountain Bike Park, where punishing ascents and high-octane challenges put your technical skills to the test. Stage Two takes in 40km of coastal trails before finishing up at Dudley's Royal Crown Hotel, where the smoked meat platter and chicken schnitties are as legendary as the local Stone & Wood Pale Ale.
Level-up the rush: On and around Lake Macquarie, you can take an adventure boat cruise, book an abseiling tour and explore by SUP or kayak.
FOX Australian Supercross Championship, 11 November
Buckle up for nail-biting supercross action as Australia's top athletes charge into Newcastle's McDonald Jones Stadium for their crack at championship glory. Book your ticket to see the best of the best battle it out in the event's Triple Crown format and in between, amp up the fun with family-friendly live entertainment, motocross stunts, fireworks and autograph signings with some of the comp's biggest names.
Level-up the rush: Freefall over Newcastle with an exhilarating skydive; take your pick of 20 ziplines, and jump on a sandboard or quadbike for an adrenaline hit on the Worimi Conservation Lands' towering dunes.
