Filippo Berio Reassurances Over Appearance of Olive Oil Due to Cold Temperatures

Filippo Berio, the UK's favourite olive oil brand for over 40 years, is reassuring customers about the appearance of olive oil reacting to the current cold UK temperatures.

As the UK experiences colder weather, you may notice a change in the appearance of your olive oil. This is a natural occurrence and does not affect the quality, shelf life, or flavour of the oil in any way.

At temperatures below 7°C, olive oil may appear cloudy, or small white lumps may form. While this may resemble mould, it is simply a reaction to the cold temperature and is completely normal. The oil may also become thicker in consistency.

Filippo Berio wants to reassure customers that the olive oil will return to its normal appearance once it has warmed to room temperature, and it is stored correctly away from heat and direct sunlight.

Filippo Berio UK managing director, Walter Zanré, commented: “We want to reassure you that the quality of your Filippo Berio olive oil has not been compromised, and it is safe to continue using it as normal. Enjoy your favourite dishes with the same great taste and health benefits as always.”
