About Babingtons Blends
Since 1893, Babingtons Tea Rooms at the foot of Rome's iconic Spanish Steps, has been serving fine teas to the world's most discerning tea connoisseurs, always with a dash of British eccentricity, wit and style. Today descendants of the original founders, cousins Chiara Bedini and Rory Bruce, head up the Italian and UK operations.
The Babingtons Foundation
The foundation works to deliver courses and programmes to educate and empower Darjeeling's young people.
Prior to Covid-19, the foundation offered vocational learning courses allowing 50 students to train as chefs or nurses in conjunction with an intensive English language course. The new intake of 2022 is now underway.
The foundation provides students with opportunities and support to build skills and to secure safe employment within the local community. Throughout the pandemic, previous students have been actively working as primary health care workers.
