About Quicke's Cheese

Generations of the Quicke family have been farming the land around Newton St Cyres, Devon, since the 16th century. Made by hand in the old-fashioned way, slowly matured for a deeply satisfying flavour, their cheese celebrates the deep connection that has grown between the Quicke family and the land they have nurtured for almost 500 years.

With more than a century's experience between them, Quicke's expert cheesemakers use all their senses to individually craft every cheese by hand. Each batch of cheeses begins using a starter culture that has remained unchanged for decades, each delivering its own spectrum of flavours. The cheese is then clothbound and placed in the cool, quiet cheese store where it is left to mature.

Quicke's Cheese have won numerous awards for their traditional clothbound cheese and Managing Director Mary Quicke was awarded an MBE in 2005 for services to farming. In 2019, she was honoured with the prestigious Cheese Industry Award at the British Cheese Awards.
