Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses Commemorate Queen's Platinum Jubilee With Special Sage Lancashire Cheese

Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses

Fourth-generation family cheesemaker, Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses is celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with a special selection of British cheeses.

The family cheesemaker is launching a Limited Edition Sage Lancashire Cheese especially for the Jubilee, handmade in Butlers' rural Lancashire dairy. It joins its Jubilee party-ready Perfect British Cheeseboard handmade with milk from Butlers' own herd of cows and goats.

Butlers last made a Sage Lancashire Cheese over 40 years ago in 1981, when they gifted it to the Queen and received a letter in thanks from Buckingham Palace. Fourth-generation owner, Matthew Hall said that Sage Lancashire Cheese “was the only choice” to mark the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee for 70 years of service.

Matthew Hall says, “Our farmhouse Lancashire cheeses are an undiscovered gem for lots of people around the country. We added fresh sage to the curds and matured it to our family recipe for an elegant, creamy and truly farmhouse Lancashire cheese. For those planning Jubilee street parties and bank holiday gatherings with friends and family, our Sage Lancashire will elevate your cheeseboard and add something really special.”

Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses has been hand-making farmhouse cheese in rural Lancashire since 1932. To make it even more of an occasion, add Sage Lancashire to Butlers' award-winning Perfect British Cheeseboard containing Blacksticks Blue (blue), Button Mill (soft) and Sunday Best (hard), as well as Tracklements Sticky Fig Relish and Peter's Yard Crackers. It is packaged and ready-to-go for any Jubilee picnic, street party or BBQ and can be ordered online and delivered through your letterbox.

Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses, which celebrates its own milestone 90th Anniversary this year, features in “Her Majesty the Queen: The Official Platinum Jubilee Pageant Commemorative Album”. The official book celebrates the life and reign of Her Majesty. The hardback showcases aligned organisations who were selected for their transformational contributions across culture, society, technology and business over the last 70 years.
