In time for brighter Summer days, Biddenden Cider has launched its Ice Cider 2021, an intense, sweet, Ice Cider bursting with aromas and reflecting the best characteristics from Kentish grown Egremont Russet and Bramley apples. 

The longer days and lighter evenings are the perfect opportunity to pop open a bottle of this new must-have aperitif and share with friends. Hosting an al fresco dinner party or have a garden picnic coming up? Biddenden Ice Cider 2021 has an ABV of 9% and is made from only the best locally grown apples which are hand-picked and pressed on site at Biddenden within 12 hours. The high natural sugar content, concentrated aromas, and enhancement of acidity and tannins is achieved through freezing the pressed apple juice and following a process known as cryoconcentration. The liquor is then fermented like a sweet wine for four months before developing further in the bottle resulting in clean, fresh and fruity flavours.

Whilst Biddenden Cider and Biddenden Wines are two separate ranges, experience from both have been drawn into the making of Biddenden Ice Cider, making it the perfect alternative for sweet wine lovers. Brand new for this year, the new Ice Cider draws on 40 years of cidermaking experience by the Barnes family, including grandparents Richard and Joyce to Julian and sons who are continuing today. The third generation, Tom Barnes, brings a sweet tooth and passion for the complexity of sweet wines and ice cider to the table.

• The Biddenden Ice Cider 2021 has a natural residual sugar of 85g/l.
• Biddenden Cider work with local orchards to select Egremont Russet and Bramley apples which have been left on the tree until their optimal ripeness. Late sun in September, followed by frosty mornings in October, add colour and flavour to the fruit whilst still on the tree. At peak ripeness, the apples are harvested by hand, and pressed in less than 12 hours, keeping as much freshness as possible in the juice.
• Also made on site: Kentish Apple & Pear Juices including Clearly Juice, a range of clear, wine-like juices and most recently a clear, 100% pure Sparkling Apple Juice.  
• Biddenden Vineyards also produces approximately 80,000 bottles of wine each year. All the grapes are grown on the estate, with all vineyard work & picking carried out by hand to ensure that the very best quality grapes are selected to produce Biddenden's wines.  Pressing, fermentation and bottling is also carried out on site, and the majority of wines are sold from the cellar door or delivered directly nationwide.
