Even after half an hour of the first chew, initial studies show a brand new peppermint gum could be an effective method of protection against Covid-19.

Renowned immunologist Dr Karl Skriner has created GoBeDo Immune Boosting Peppermint Gum - the first chewing gum to combine the immune strengthening effects of zinc with the antiviral properties of Chitosan. Available to purchase now and easy to consume at any time.

Dr Karl Skriner commented: “Because of Covid-19's high infection rate, the development of methods and tools to curb the spread of the virus have been the focus of the medical and scientific community. One compound of particular interest at the moment is Chitosan. The idea behind GoBeDo chewing gum is to put a long-lasting layer of Chitosan in our mouths, which also happens to be where the virus is likely to enter.

“When Covid-19 travels through our mouths, it's met with Chitosan particles, which could significantly weaken the virus's potential to infect the body.

“GoBeDo Immune Boosting Peppermint Gum could be particularly beneficial to those who work closely with other people - particularly medical practitioners who are often in the same room as those who test positive for Covid-19.”

Dr Karl explains more about the powers of the new Immune Boosting Gum in a YouTube video you can see here.

The proof is in the chewing!

An in vitro lab study was carried out to test the effectiveness of the gum which ran over several months. The results showed evidence GoBeDo Gum could provide an effective method of protection from Covid-19 plus other well-known viruses and bacteria. The results are available here.

Based on new research, GoBeDo Immune Boosting Gum secreted an average load of 1.8 mg per 15 minutes of chewing time. Previous studies suggest at least 1 mg of Chitosan can produce protective effects from Covid-19. Furthermore, based on saliva samples, the study found that Chitosan from GoBeDo is still heavily present beyond 30 minutes after the first chew.

It was demonstrated in vitro that Chitosan strongly interacts both with the surface of the Covid-19 virus (Receptor Binding Domain) as well as with the binding site on the ACE2 receptor on the mucosa cell surface. As a consequence, the infection is blocked both on the virus site and the mucosa site (double blocking principle).

In addition, the binding of Chitosan to the virus spike protein initiates a change on the virus surface that allows weak-binding antibodies to turn into strong-binding antibodies, which means that even the low efficacy of weak antibodies can be strongly improved by the presence of Chitosan.

Magic from mushrooms

Chitosan is a type of sugar derived from chitin, which is primarily sourced from shellfish, but also in certain species of mushrooms.

Chitosan has been shown to interfere with Covid-19's attempts to infect its host. It does so by preventing Covid-19 from binding with a protein receptor called ACE-2.

ACE-2 is a sort of regulator of blood pressure and inflammation. It works by preventing the body from overreacting during stressful situations. ACE-2 also functions to protect our lungs, specifically our alveoli (the part that processes the air we breathe).

When Covid-19 attacks ACE-2 proteins, the body can have trouble maintaining healthy levels of inflammation, normal blood pressure, and the host can experience difficulty breathing. It would explain why these three are also the symptoms of being Covid-19 positive, especially in severe cases.

Where does Chitosan fit into all this? Researchers suggest Chitosan could act as a “virus plug,” sticking to Covid-19, making it impossible to attack our ACE-2 proteins. If Covid-19 is unable to bind with ACE-2, there is no infection.

Dr Karl added: “Chitosan supplementation is nothing new, and several studies have shown that the human body can tolerate high amounts of Chitosan with no side effects. Armed with what we knew, the question then was; how do we supplement it in a way that would have it meet the virus the moment it enters? We answered our own question by putting it in our GoBeDo Immune Boosting Gum.”

GoBeDo Immune Boosting Peppermint Gum with Chitosan and Zinc is gluten and sugar free. It's available from the GoBeDo website priced at £5.99 for a 3-pack of 9 gums.
