ERDINGER Alkoholfrei to partner with British Canoeing

British Canoeing is pleased to announce a new commercial partnership with ERDINGER Alkoholfrei in a three-year deal.

The non-alcoholic wheat beer is brewed in Bavaria by the private brewery ERDINGER Weissbräu and is known as the sporty thirst quencher, due to its isotonic properties which help replace lost fluids after exercise. ERDINGER Alkoholfrei is a long-standing supporter of amateur and professional sport, recognising the importance of a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.

The three-year partnership will make ERDINGER Alkoholfrei an Official Partner to British Canoeing supporting the organisation as it continues to invest in the growth and development of all forms of paddlesport, and helping British Canoeing continue the fantastic work it is currently doing on environment and sustainability issues on inland waterways.

It will also be an official partner for two major events being hosted by British Canoeing in England the ICF Canoe Freestyle World Championships in July this year and the ICF World Slalom Championships in September 2023.

Gareth May, Business Development Manager for British Canoeing, said: “We are delighted to start the new year off with the announcement that we will be working with ERDINGER Alkoholfrei to support our major events strategy as well as the wider paddlesport community.

“ERDINGER has a long history of working with sports, with their Isotonic Alkoholfrei drink having been a staple at the finish line for some of the biggest, triathlon, running and cycling events for many years.

“We are proud to now add Paddlesport to this list and can't wait to provide paddlers with ERDINGER Alkoholfrei and its isotonic benefits at the finish line too.”

ERDINGER Country Manager, Peter Gowans said “We know that paddlers are as passionate about their sport as we are about the quality of our beer and are looking forward to sharing experiences over the next couple of years. It is a privilege for ERDINGER Alkoholfrei to partner with British Canoeing on some of the exciting initiatives they have planned and we are looking forward to meeting members at paddlesport events this year.

“ERDINGER Alkoholfrei is brewed from natural ingredients, in accordance with the Bavarian purity law and provides the full-bodied refreshment you want from your beer, but at less than 0.5% ABV. As well as its isotonic properties, it contains vitamins B9 and B12 which promote the normal functioning of the body's immune system making it an obvious choice for anyone who is active but still enjoys a beer.”

The ICF Canoe Freestyle World Championships will be held at Holme Pierrepont Country Park, home of the National Water Sports Centre, from 27 June – 2 July 2022. For more information, check out https://britishcanoeingevents.org.uk/freestyle2022/

The ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships will be held at Lee Valley White Water Centre, from 19-24 September 2023, the event acts as qualification for all nations to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

About ERDINGER Weissbräu

ERDINGER Weissbräu is a private brewery, established in 1886 in the small town of Erding, Bavaria, on the outskirts of Munich. For over 135 years, the outstanding quality of their wheat beers has been rooted in their passion for Bavarian brewing skills. They have always brewed exclusively in Erding and never brewed anything other than the Bavarian speciality wheat beer.

About ERDINGER Alkoholfrei - The sporty thirst-quencher

The non-alcoholic beer with isotonic properties is a true multi-talent. Spicy malt notes harmonise excellently with caramel-sweet nuances. Enjoyment is enhanced by the stimulating bitterness of our aroma hops and a hint of light, fruity acidity. This is rounded out by finely sparkling carbonic acid.
