Brixton— 14th October 2021 — Today, The Beast of Brixton on Acre Lane announced the launch of their new delivery brand Funk & Seoul Korean Fried Chicken.
“We're so excited to announce The Beast Of Brixton's next chapter by bringing Funk & Seoul's delicious Korean fried chicken to Brixton,” said James Duke-Evans, Co-Owner at The Beast of Brixton.
Brixton Residency and Delivery
Funk & Seoul Korean Fried Chicken is initially available Thursday to Sunday nights to dine-in at The Beast Of Brixton on Acre Lane and for delivery via Just Eat and Deliveroo. Duke-Evans said “We're excited to work with Just Eat and Deliveroo to help bring exceptional Korean fried chicken directly to the doors of Brixton and Clapham”.
Offering
It's a crowd-pleasing menu of substantial and very good-looking Korean chicken burgers, jumbo wings and “Funk Chunks”, cooked in real Korean fry mix and served with the essential flavours of Gochujang, Ssamjang and Bulgogi. This concept of high quality classics, with Korean flavours also gave rise to one of the team's favourite new dishes, their Loaded K-Fries. “Everyone loves loaded fries, but these have kimchi, house cheese sauce, pickled chillies and bulgogi drizzle, they're our new favourite addiction!”, says customer Anthony Cozens. “They're next-level indulgent.” His wife Eleanor Black added “ I keep thinking about who I can invite out to dinner next so I can eat all this again!”
The Beast of Brixton
“We're partly Korean-owned so we've been raring to show off all these amazing flavours for a while”, said Duke-Evans. “The Funk & Seoul delivery idea was hatched during lockdown but we also want to welcome everyone back to The Beast for a cosy meal with friends. In Korea “chimaek” (“chi” meaning fried chicken and “maek” meaning beer) is a big part of nightlife culture”
Founded in 2015 by Will Nelson and James Duke-Evans, The Beast of Brixton is a firm favourite among discerning locals. Having started as an unmarked bar, it now boasts a ground floor café serving coffee roasted in South London by Alchemy, a 1st floor workspace; and a roast that's a mainstay of annual Best Sunday Roasts in London articles.
