SINGAPORE – July 2021 – From 19 August to 30 November 2021, Sofitel Singapore City Centre joins hands with The Art Faculty (TAF), a social enterprise by Autism Resource Centre (Singapore), to present a delightful high tea presented artfully in an artist-designed box.
Located at Coffea, the hotel's casual chic coffee bar, afternoon tea lovers can look forward to an exquisite afternoon tea experience with a dreamy ensemble of local French-style delicacies and bite-sized treats that pay homage to Singapore's rich culinary heritage. The delicious treats will be presented in a limited-edition two-tiered afternoon tea box, created in collaboration with gifted artist Selena Seow from The Art Faculty.

About Selena Seow and Box Illustration
The stunning gold-hued box depicting the warm embrace of a tropical summer showcases an illustration titled “Looking Through” by Selena Seow, a talented 25-year-old artist who is on the autism spectrum. Evoking a sense of nostalgia, the visual on the box cover features the colourful old shophouses lining Tanjong Pagar's Neil Road, just a stone's throw away from where Sofitel Singapore City Centre stands.
Selena was inspired by the vibrant colours and architectural design of the shophouses, treasured masterpieces of Singapore's culturally diverse past. A bamboo frame surrounds the shophouses, which Selena incorporated to inject an element of curiosity and highlight Singapore's architectural beginnings where bamboos were the main material used in construction. "Looking Through" allows the viewer to enjoy a glimpse of history while showcasing Selena's keen attention to detail, which enables her to create many intricate art pieces with ink and colour pencils.
"An Artful High Tea" Delicacies
While appreciating Selena's inspiring art piece, diners can partake in a leisurely afternoon tête-à-tête, tucking into a delightful selection of bites, served alongside grand cru coffee and tea blends by Nespresso and TWG Tea. Complementing Selena's art piece, Sofitel Singapore City Centre's Executive Pastry Chef Sam Leong and team have meticulously crafted a tasty line-up of French classics and delicious creations inspired by well-loved Singaporean flavours.
Highlights include the Sofitel Portuguese Egg Tart baked until beautifully caramelised, Mango Sago Panna Cotta Verrine, which features a topping of juicy mango cubes and sago as well as aromatic Pandan Coconut Scones made with a harmonious blend of coconut flakes, gula melaka and fresh pandan leaves. With durian season in full swing, not to be missed is Chef Sam's decadent Durian Choux Pastry with Vanilla, where fluffy choux pastry is piped with a generous filling of durian puree, coconut cream and gula melaka, then completed with flavourful vanilla chantilly cream.
The high tea experience also features an array of indulgent savouries including Chilli Crab Mayonnaise on Sandwich and Sambal Salmon Roll with Caviar and Fresh Herbs featuring smoked salmon mixed with homemade sambal paste and rolled in a crepe wrap.
"An Artful High Tea" is priced at $108++ for weekdays and $118++ for weekends.
