World Gin Day: Two New Tipples from Otterbeck Distillery

Otterbeck Distillery

Gin lovers rejoice! Otterbeck Distillery has two brand new, and very different, gins for you to enjoy on World Gin Day (June 12).

One is a limited-edition release to mark the life and achievements of Sir Captain Tom - a hero of the pandemic. The other is a deliciously summery strawberry and pink peppercorn gin.

Sir Captain Tom's Limited Edition Barrel Aged Gin was produced to celebrate the incredible achievements of a man who inspired the world during the pandemic.

Only 100 bottles have been produced of this Bourbon cask aged gin and all profits will be donated to the Captain Tom Foundation, which supports causes that were close to his heart.

Sir Captain Tom and the founders of Otterbeck Distillery were family friends, after meeting on the set of a documentary about a shared love; motorcycles.

It's priced at £100 per bottle plus postage and can be purchased at www.otterbeckdistillery.co.uk

The second new gin from Otterbeck Distillery perfect for sipping on World Gin Day is their Strawberry and Pink Peppercorn Cotton Gin.  Kicking off strawberry season in style, this delicious gin is a collaboration with strawberry producer Annabel's Deliciously British who is also based in Yorkshire.

Strawberry and Pink Peppercorn Cotton Gin is a fantastic al fresco alternative to the summery tipple, Pimm's - light, fresh and fruity with an unusual pink peppercorn finish.

Lovingly crafted using the finest botanicals, this premium small-batch gin is distilled at Otterbeck Distillery from botanicals including Yorkshire Watercress, English Coriander, hand-foraged local spruce, rowan berries, nettle leaves and mint. These compliment the ripe strawberries from Annabel's farm perfectly.

Strawberry and Pink Peppercorn Cotton Gin has an RRP of £37.95 and is available from Booths or at www.otterbeckdistillery.co.uk.

About Otterbeck Distillery

Otterbeck Distillery is the brainchild of husband-and-wife teams Nicola and Dougie Lampkin MBE and Alexa and Chris Ives, who founded Ilkley Brewery. The distillery is located within a converted 18th century cotton and silk mill on the banks of the Otterburn Beck near Skipton in Yorkshire.

A 'Cotton Ginny' was a machine used in cotton production at the mill, which is what inspired the name for the gin. The team at Otterbeck love to support and work with local shops, producers and hotels such as Keelham Farm Shop, the Michelin starred Angel at Hetton, Coniston Hotel, Annabel's Deliciously British and Tame & Wild.
