From Monday 18th May 2021, locals and visitors to Cheltenham will now be able to enjoy a unique dining concept, merging delicious Taiwanese BAO buns with smoked Texan-style BBQ dishes. Located behind the Regent Arcade on Regent Street in Cheltenham, guests will be able to dine across two floors, with the centerpiece being the Robata oven showcasing open kitchen viewing for guests on the ground floor.
Ahead of the launch, the restaurant has revealed a unique menu, merging two delicious styles of cuisine, as well as some more exclusive dishes for diners to choose from. With options ranging from small plates and starters such as Katsu Arancini and Bang Bang Cauliflower, to the Drunken Crispy Duck and Cornflake Chicken Bao bun options, each dish is prepared using locally sourced ingredients. The cocktail menu is also set to delight too with unique recipes being created using butter-infused brandy, created in-house and smoked using on premise.
BAO + BBQ will be launching and opening for the first time on 17th May with tables available for booking from 18th May. Guests can book online via the website.
Discussing its launch, Jay Rahman and Michael Raphel, Founders of BAO + BBQ said:
“The unprecedented closure of our other restaurants has of course been enormously disappointing. However, we've worked hard to make the most of the situation by using this time as an opportunity to refurbish the restaurants that we have already and, of course, launch our new concepts including chicken restaurant Holee Clucker and BAO + BBQ. We very much look forward to welcoming guests to our new venue and are excited to see what the reaction is from guests of our new merging of cuisines.”
JM Socials is an independently owned restaurant group with venues based predominantly in Cheltenham, with expansion to Oxford and further afield too.
