Managing Director, Spiral Cellars
Lucy Hargreaves graduated in International Marketing and cut her teeth in marketing for the construction industry including the 'styrofoam' brand for Dow Chemical in Scandinavia before starting her own agency in 1996, The Creative Department, based in London - a successful integrated marketing agency which she ran for eight years.
Lucy bought Spiral Cellars Ltd. in 2004 along with two partner directors, and in August 2015 took full ownership of Spiral Cellars along with Mark Dickens when they bought out her previous business partners.
Her forward-thinking approach in predicting the growth in home wine storage propelled Spiral Cellars to the position it is today - as the world's market-leader in premium cellaring solutions.
Using highly successful brand-building and distribution partnerships, the business has enjoyed rapid growth over the past sixteen years, increasing turnover more than 6-fold, employing over 50 people and building over 200 cellars every year ranging from £19,000 kits to £330,000 custom installations.
Lucy is, of course, a huge wine enthusiast and holds a Wine & Spirit Education Trust Level 2 wine qualification. As a highly successful business woman and also mother of two, she is a huge champion of retaining talent and promoting the benefits of flexible and remote working to ensure women can enjoy their career and family at the same time.
Away from running the business, Lucy is a talented interior designer, and has refurbished no fewer than eight properties. Lucy is an enthusiastic 'foodie' and keen advocate of the Ketogenic Diet. She has writen two cookbooks – 'Lucy's Favourite Dinners', and 'Lucy's Keto Cookbook' to help raise money for a number of charities.
Lucy is a highly accomplished mountain biker and spent much of the 2000 decade living between London and the Alps. She also plays the clarinet to a high standard and sings – managing to to publically perform Mozart's Requiem a day after giving birth to her son.
