London, UK: The lockdown business, Bubble Box, has successfully scaled from an idea wrought out of frustrations with the poor choice of quality sparkling wine in the UK, to a business which is now delivering a rapidly growing number of its wine boxes to club members across the UK every month.

The UK is a nation of bubble lovers, with over 175 million bottles of predominantly Champagne, Prosecco and Cava consumed in 2019. However, choice is somewhat limited and tends to be dominated by large champagne houses or supermarket “house” brands. Red wine enthusiasts expect an array of Malbecs on steak night or choice of their favourite Bourdeaux when a rich stew is on the menu but sparkling wine lovers are not afforded the same luxury.

Bubble Box, led by passionate sparkling winos Tom & Em, are determined to change this and show the nation how many exciting tastes there are in the sparkling wine sector. Their experience visiting and building relationships with wineries all over the world is one which they are excited to share with their club members every month.

Co-Founder Tom Mellor said “We have always enjoyed sparkling wine and have chosen holidays and weekend trips to vineyards all over the world for as long as we can remember. Every trip we try new and exciting bubbles but as soon as we get back to the UK we are left with the same limited choice. We almost feel as though the locals keep the good stuff to themselves and send what's left to the UK! We are determined to change this and have already delivered some of our favourite wines to our club members but have so many more exciting ideas to come”

Each month, members can choose to receive either a Bubble Box which includes 3 bottles of sparkling wine, or a Gourmet Box which delivers 2 bottles of sparkling wine but also includes authentic ingredients, recipes and sweet and savoury treats to add a little fun and ensure you are enjoying the wine in the same way the locals of that months wineries do.

The club members have thoroughly enjoyed each box and since launching 8 months ago, every single box has sold out before the end of the month with the number of people subscribing and staying in the club since day one significantly beating their wildest expectations. This year they intend to continue that growth as they move the business to a new distribution centre and have exciting recipe collaborations coming up for their gourmet box subscribers.
