For many of us, 2020 involved 'going without' things we love: socialising with friends, travelling, live music. Even a home-cooked Christmas dinner.

And while 6.5m UK drinkers are reported to be participating in Dry January - abstaining from booze entirely - Laylo is encouraging the rest of us to drink better by switching to their boxed format.

  • Better quality - Laylo's premium boxed wine stays fresh for 6 weeks from opening, meaning wine-lovers who want to moderate their drinking needn't also compromise on quality. After all, if you're just having one glass, why not make it something really special?
  • Better for the planet - Each box generates 90% less carbon than the equivalent volume in glass bottles. So households who drink a bottle a week can save a whopping 20kg of carbon annually by switching to boxed wine. That's enough energy to power a 42” wide screen TV non-stop for a month.
  • Supporting independent producers - Laylo source their vegan-friendly Tempranillo from small, independent winemakers Ruth and Ana de Andres.

Laylo was co-founded by Laura Rosenberger and Laura Riches last Summer, when by coincidence they realised they were both working on the same business idea: sourcing small, limited-availability parcels of premium wine, then wrapping them up in boxes that consumers would be proud to have on their countertop.

Their first wine launched in early November to positive reviews, including from Masterchef judge William Sitwell who described it as “a very pretty box with some extremely good juice inside".

Laylo Co-founder Laura Riches says:  “We created Laylo because we loved the idea of being able to sink into the sofa after a busy day and enjoy 'just one glass' of delicious wine, without having to open a bottle. That's never been more relevant than now, with so many of us resolved to drink a little less, while locked down in our homes.”

Laylo's Lot #1: Tempranillo costs £34.99 per 3-bottle box   and is available exclusively online at www.drinklaylo.com. Free UK-wide next day delivery is included as standard.
