ZIMA

A culinary wild child turned world class chef, Alexei Zimin is a household name within the realm of Russian cuisine and beyond. Pursuing his passion for food after graduating in philology from Moscow University, Zimin cemented his career as a food columnist and writer.

He later launched Afisha-Eda, a first new era publication pioneering and challenging the way in which Russians thought about what they ate. Fostering a plethora of appreciation and success with numerous ventures including best-selling books, TV shows and his own cookery school.

His journalistic pursuits continued to take the industry by storm, as Editor-In-Chief at the helm of Russia's GQ and Gourmet Magazine, Zimin then furthered his culinary passions,

graduating from the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School in London in 2008. Putting his knowledge into practice, he launched Ragout, an upscale dining institution in Moscow, bringing a revolution to the capital's gastronomic scene. Success ensued, with the restaurant achieving 'Best Restaurant of the Year' award from TripAdvisor and Zimin personally receiving the GQ 'Man of the Year' award for his Afisha-Eda commitments.

Offering innovative dishes where the traditional, refined French techniques of Zimin's training meet and fuse with modern, authentic Russian flavours, his unique talent continued to flourish with the opening of Park Express, the relaunch of the legendary Moscow TSDL, and Café Dom 12. All becoming acclaimed restaurant hubs for writers, filmmakers and creative members of society in Russia.

With more experience and outstanding accolades under his belt, in 2016 Alexei finally brought his expertise to London; one of the world's most competitive, dynamic and exciting restaurant scenes with the opening of ZIMA. Showcasing the concept of Russian street food in the heart of Soho, Zimin is arguably a trailblazer in his own right, at the forefront of uncovering complex, exciting delicacies with his own twist that the world is waking up to.
