"I would recommend a Vitamin D-rich diet in light of Coronavirus as there has been some evidence to support this fat-soluble vitamin has helped the immunity and lower rates of infection. It's known as the sunshine vitamin, helping improve mood and when you feel more positive it helps to improve the immune system.

Vegetarian foods that contain the most vitamin D are egg yolks and mushrooms. You can also get cereals, milk, soya milk and orange juice fortified with this vitamin. However, I don't feel these fortified foods to be particularly beneficial for the immune system.

Egg and mushrooms can be made for breakfast or lunch and a fish lunch or dinner healthy accompaniments. Instead of refined and processed foods, choose whole plant based foods, complex carbohydrates and an array of colourful (including green leafy varieties) will certainly be beneficial to improving immunity. Eating in a more relaxed way will also help digest the food you are eating.

Exercising on a rebounder to boost circulation and increase oxygen can be a great exercise, as little as 10 minutes is needed, which is equivalent to a 30 minute jog without the skeletal shock. Even just shaking the body and having a dance is a fun and healthy way to start the day.

Take time to get outside in nature, especially before 9am, to start activating melatonin levels to help to improve sleep that night.

Keep the Kidneys warm (lower back under rib cage) by making sure you have adequate clothes on to cover that area and maybe put a hot water bottle on that area (over clothes), making sure it's not too hot.

Supplementation may be the answer for some people who are working from home, not able or choosing to go outside in sunlight. There are many vitamin D supplements on the market such as the high strength HuxD3 20,000iu Colecalciferol, which is Halal and Kosher certified, highly absorbable, comes in gelatin free capsules so is suitable for vegetarians and is preservative free. This is available at some health shops such as Dennis Gore online (www.dennisthechemist.com).
