Critically acclaimed modern British restaurant Lupins in Flat Iron Square will launch 'Lupins at Home' next Monday 1st June followed by a new deli and kitchen shop later in the month.
Restaurant owners, top chefs Lucy Pedder and Natasha Cooke, say they have had to rethink their business model to adapt to the current circumstances, but that the changes to their restaurant may well be permanent.
With restaurants unlikely to be able to re-open until at least July, and with strict social distancing measures in place, the duo decided to launch their new 'Lupins at Home' delivery service.
The new offering will include many of the restaurant's favourite sharing plates, some new recipes developed during lockdown, an extensive deli to include delicious homemade quiches, sandwiches and seasonal salads, plus a kitchen shop selling unique tote bags, handcrafted goods plus delicious freshly baked bread and kombucha.
Natasha said: “With the likely social distancing regulations it makes no business sense for a small restaurant like ours to re-open. Apart from not being financially viable we would lose that unique cosy Lupins vibe which is what our regulars love about us.
“We know our customers are missing us and while we cannot re-open we can offer Lupins meals at home. We had also always planned to open a deli and I think the current situation has just been the perfect opportunity to bring those plans forward.”
Lupins at Home will offer set meals for two (with or without meat) alongside A la Carte favourites such as rosemary focaccia with brown butter and their hugely popular signature dish Cornish crab thermidor.
The restaurant offers a delivery service but customers are also invited to pick up their order and enjoy a glass of cold beer or coffee while they wait. To pre-order please visit www.lupinslondon.com (ordering online will open on 1st June).
